Death is a part of life. Although the Bible is a book about hope and faith, it talks about death almost as much as it talks about life. But no matter how much we say that death is normal and the natural course of things, it would still be painful if it takes away one of our loved ones.

So what do we do when we feel grief and sorrow as a result of someone’s death? Scriptures show that feeling all those emotions is completely normal. Even the Lord Jesus Christ wept when He reached the tomb of His friend, Lazarus. But it did not stop in weeping.

The Bible teaches us that while there is weeping and mourning, there will also be rejoicing and dancing when Jesus returns and brings us home. Allow ourselves to mourn and be sorrowful, but it should not last longer than necessary. Life goes on, and with it our work to preach the gospel to everyone.
