What does it mean that tongues are a sign for the unbeliever? This often debated passage is found in 1 Corinthians 14:22: 
 
"Therefore tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe but to unbelievers; but prophesying is not for unbelievers but for those who believe." 
 
In this video I make the case that uninterpreted tongues are actually a sign of judgment on the unbeliever. Part of my explanation was derived from Wayne Grudem's work, of which I included a summary at the end of this video. 
 
"Uninterpreted tongues are a sign to unbelievers of God's displeasure and impending judgment (21-22a), and Paul, not wanting the Corinthians to give unbelievers this sign, discourages the childish (20) use of uninterpreted tongues in the Corinthian church meeting (23). Prophecy, however, is a clear sign of God's presence with and blessing on believers (22b), and so Paul naturally encourages its use when unbelievers are present, in order that they may see this sign and thereby come to Christian faith (24-25).

Tongues will cease. Cessationists and Continuationists agree on that fact. But when? Scripture is clear that they will cease "when that which is perfect has come," but that is where the debate really begins. What is "the perfect?" 
 
In this video I lay out my case that "the perfect" refers to Christ's coming kingdom at the end of the age. Rather than this verse proving that the gifts have ceased (as many cessationists seem to believe), it actually reveals the opposite: the gifts CAN continue until Jesus returns.
