It hurts when someone presumes on our motives. But we can be quick to do the same. Paul says that love protects us from that hurtful sin because 'love believes all things.'

Love Believes all Things - 1 Corinthians 13:7

The test of love is our joy. Do we rejoice when others stumble and fall? Do we take pleasure in the failures of our enemies? Or do we mourn in love and carefully present the truth to them? The answer determines whether we love them or not!

Jesus laments over the city, explains that He (YHWH) has offered to shelter the city throughout the Old Testament, but they refused Him. Their house will be destroyed, but a day is coming when the city will again proclaim praise to Him. His eternal sovereign purposes remain intact.
