[GKC §67q] Imperfects, with an original u in the second syllable, are also found with this ŭ lengthened to û (instead of ō), e. g. ‏יָרָוּן‎, if the text is correct, in Pr 29:6; ‏יָשׁוּד‎ Ps 91:6 (unless it be simply an imperfect from ‏שׁוּד to be powerful, to prevail); ‏יָרוּץ‎ (if from ‏רצץ‎) Is 42:4, &c. (also defectively ‏אָרֻץ‎ Ps 18:30; but in Ec 12:6, according to Baer, ‏וְתָרוּץ‎); ‏תִּתֻּם‎ Ez 24:11 (on the sharpening of the ‏ת cf. g above).

"The form yārûṣ would seem to derive from √rûṣ (‘to run’) rather than from √rāṣaṣ (‘to bruise’). Hence, BHS emends to yērôṣ. GKC 67q shows that the MT can be treated as qal from √rāṣaṣ, and Ec. 12:6 indicates that this has an intransitive as well as a transitive meaning."

[N.B Therefore, יָרוּץ would be qal imperfect 3ms of רצץ functioning intransitively.]
