“He is, Divine” Lesson 5 Outline 
21 October 2020 Luke 5:1-11 
 
The characteristics of God that are manifested in Jesus are: truth, omniscience, omnipotence, holiness, and mercy. 
The scribes and Pharisees quoted sources, other people, they gave opinions, etc. But Jesus never did that, He simply spoke the _____. 
When we speak of Jesus as the Son of God, we mean Son as in having the same _______. 
And His word, His truth, is so powerful that it literally dispenses _______ ____. 
 The truth will set you free from sin and from judgment. 
You have two kinds of people in the world, those who believe the devil's lies and those who believe the truth of God. 
 So in Luke chapter 5:1 where it says Jesus was speaking “the word of God” that is better translated “words that come from God” And that is important because here then you have evidence of His _____. 
A fisherman typically, and certainly at the Sea of Galilee, fish at night because at night the fish come to the surface and to the shore. 
These boats are fairly large. 
 It was now time to bring Peter to full __________. 
 Jesus knows Peter but it is time to take Peter to another level, the next level.

There is a part of “evangelical Christianity” that denies it is necessary to hear the gospel to be _____.

Galatians 4:19 29 July 2020 
 
I want to teach this at this moment because I think this is the greatest problem facing the church today. 
Paul is aware that there are serious issues with the churches in Galatia. 
So he is desirous of them being more __________. 
There used to be a lot of conversation about ________ and _________ in the church. 
So Paul is saying that he carries a deep and profound burden for his people and their holiness. 
For Paul it was all about the ______________ of the people. 
There is a past form of sanctification that occurred at salvation. There is a future form of sanctification that occurs at glorification. And there is that middle form of sanctification that is going on throughout our lives. 
The Biography of Salvation: 
Election, Justification, Sanctification, Glorification 
The pain of Paul’s life, the agony of his life was the sin of his people and the issue of their sanctification. 
Paul believed that when we get to heaven we should be as Christ-like as we can be. 
I feel this has to be a preoccupation in these times, but that we are very content with superficial successes in life and superficial satisfactions. 
We cannot live like the _____. 
The objective of the Spirit of God working in your life is that the Lord will cause you to increase and abound in love toward Him, so that He may establish our hearts without blame in holiness. 
Your whole life is basically the fulfillment of one great doctrine. Everything that happens in our lives between our justification and our glorification is the work of sanctification. 
Sanctification occurs as you present every part of yourself as a slave to _____________.

 “We are One” John 10:22-24.

John has been showing us confrontations, these points of rejection at the Jewish feasts.

This is not an Old Testament feast. 
Antiochus Epiphanes wanted power over Israel and achieved it. 
 In ___ BC he conquered the temple and immediately went inside into the holy of holies and slaughtered a pig. Then, he erected a statue of ____ there. 
 Jews were not allowed to carry, to read, or possess any portion of Old Testament Scripture. 
 Under the leadership of Judas _________, a powerful warrior-leader, the Jews retook Jerusalem. 
The Feast of Dedication is to commemorate the liberation of the temple. 
This section of scripture took place in the winter, not only on the calendar, but it was also winter ________. 
So this is a very significant moment, as the Jews celebrate their great human deliverer Maccabeus while preparing to ______ their Savior. 
This is the time of the Feast of Dedication, also called Feast of Lights. And the contemporary Jewish word for that is ________.

 “We are One” John 10:22-24.
The purpose of John’s gospel is given in chapter 20 and verse 31, “these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.”

If we were to define the courage of conviction exhibited by Paul we would see #1 he knew his _______.

Knowing the Bible is not the objective; the Bible is the means to the accomplishing of the objective. 
You can have a very spiritual, general goal that can become very, very, practical for you. 
Are you willing to sacrifice your own self-will, your own pleasure, anything for your objective? 
If you never have an objective, you’re not going anywhere, and you’ll never have the occasion to know what it is to express courage and to be able to set your will aside to accomplish what it is that God’s laid on your heart. 
secondly, the courage of conviction can’t be ________. 
What does it take to divert you? Whatever it takes to divert you is the measure of your conviction. 
Paul was good for the growth of the church even before he was _____. 
Was Paul disobedient in going to Jerusalem? 
The phrase “through the Spirit” is best understood through the exercise of a spiritual ____. 
I believe that somebody prophesied that Paul should not go to Jerusalem. 
If he was disobedient, he was disobedient out of ____. 
The Scriptures are full of examples of people who made mistakes. 
But I don’t think Paul disobeyed the Spirit because his life was lived in ___________ to the Holy Spirit, his reasons for going to Jerusalem were the right kind of reasons and because I feel he was urged in his heart by the Holy Spirit to go.
