Parables in Ink illustrates bible verses and theological concept from the bible. My goal is to teach through a visual interpretation from those verses.

2 Corinthians 3:3 (ESV)

And you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

The parable of the sower teachs us about the different type fo hearts and how they responsed to God's word. It also teaches us that we responsible for that decision.

The Parable of the Sower - Matthew 13:1-23

A pen and ink illustration of Matthew 7:7-29. This was used for bible council time at (http://awana.org/) Awana. 
 
In the illustration I would like to point out a few things. The left/right sides have no political or liberal/conservative suggestions the darker imagery needed a lot of marker coverage and I product a lot of skin oil. This oil water-proofs any paper I slide my hand across. Having the darker pieces on the left made it easier for me to keep the paper clean. 
 
The door on the right is only partial open. You can see the cross at the top but you do not see the path the leads to it or what is on the other side. God will lead people who are willing to follow. Some of those places fun and joyful but others will be hard or difficult to get through. We may even have to question ourselves and what we truly love. This is always and very painful process. 
 
On the worlds side of the path all the fun stuff, the things that only provide temporary happiness is up front. At the end of the path the elements of death start to form a skull. The world can provide fame, fortune, and fun but in the end you have to give it all back when death consumes you. 
 
The verses throughout the passage use verbs like seek and knock. The person in the center is mankind who has a choice to make. If we want to seek and we want to find then the knowledge will be made available. But the person has a choice to make once this knowledge is made known. These are the verse about building on rock or sand. 
 
Do we choose God's path? Or do we choose the world/our own path?
