We hardly get excited about passages like this, but if 2 Tim is true, there is something here for us to learn from something that will help us with our walk with go. But what can a list of land given to a tribe called Judah in 1400BC  teach us?<br />
What we see here in these verses in chapter 15 is the promise of God made concrete. This means God is not just a being that makes idle promises but gives his promises substance existing in a material or physical form; and does not leave them as just abstract concepts.

Charles Simeon reminds us in his commentary on this passage that many battlers and struggles lay ahead for God's people but the people need not fear or be dismayed because God had led them to this place and would give them victory. In the same way, we live gaining minor victories over sin and each one is a promise from God that we will win the battle if we just stay faithful.<br />
Simeon goes on to remind us that we will face enemy after enemy and some will seem to be so significant as to deny that even God can deal with them but he can and we are not to be afraid and fear them. we can put our foot on the neck of whatever we face.
