In a weekly Sunday sermon aired on YouTube on 25 September 2022, yesterday, Joseph Prince said the following: 0:12 -3:18 mins 
 
First, as opposed to what Joseph Prince said, the writer of Hebrews is writing to believers in every verse. 
 
He includes himself (and he is a believer) in Hebrews 10:26 by using the inclusive personal pronoun ‘we’. 
 
The author writes: “If we deliberately keep on sinning...” 
 
Since the writer of Hebrews is a believer and he uses the personal pronoun ‘we’ in Hebrews 10:26, he clearly means, “If believers, like you and I, go on sinning…” 
 
The writer would not include himself by using a personal pronoun such as ‘we’ in Hebrews 10:26 if what he was saying didn’t apply to believers. 
 
The author of Hebrews would not have used, ‘we’ if Hebrews 10:26 was written to unbelievers. 
 
It just doesn’t make logical and grammatical sense. 
 
Second, the warning that was given to those who “have received the knowledge of the truth” in Hebrews 10:26, were also the same people who had been “sanctified” by the blood of the covenant in Hebrews 10:29: 
 
Hebrews 10:29 NIV 
29 “How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?” 
 
The fact that these people had the blood of the covenant (which refers to the blood of Jesus) that sanctified (past tense, already happened) them, is indisputable proof that they were believers. 
 
Before some of them had rejected the truth and were sinning deliberately, they were genuine believers in that they “have received the knowledge of the truth” (Heb 10:26) because they had been sanctified (Heb 10:29). 
 
Can unbelievers be those who can be described as those who are already sanctified by the blood of the covenant (blood of Jesus) (Heb 10:29)? 
 
Joseph Prince has once again confirmed himself as a Serial Hypocrite as he has not interpreted Hebrews 10:26-27 in context which he claimed.

First, when Jesus says, “You will know them by their fruits (Matt 7:16,20),” what fruits was He referring to? 
 
Joseph Prince says they refer to church size, the number of testimonies and miracles. 
 
Prince has often used these factors: church size, the number of testimonies and miracles to prove the fruits of his ministry and the truth of his grace doctrine. 
 
By doing that, Joseph Prince has clearly gone out of context. 
 
In context, popularity in the number of testimonies, church size and miracles can never be what Jesus meant by good fruit in Matthew 7:15-20. 
 
Second, on many occasions, Joseph Prince would write in his books and preach in his sermons about the hypocrisy of taking a verse out of its context – when the disturbing truth is, he is the one who regularly does it and the chief culprit who is guilty of it. 
 
What do you call a man who keeps breaking the same rules that he strongly advocates? 
 
A Hypocrite, pure and simple! 
 
Hypocrisy is what Jesus condemned the Pharisees for (Matt 23:28). 
 
No hypocrite can ever be a true teacher of God’s word & a Christ-centred preacher. 
 
But the more crucial issue is this – how could a true teacher of God’s word not be pricked in his conscience about his hypocrisy when he does the same things over and over again – breaking the same rules about interpreting a text in its context that he strongly advocates?

Joseph Prince in teaching that Jesus promises the hundredfold blessing of prosperity that includes literal lands (and literal houses) that would make believers, presumably, a hundred times richer, is clearly interpreting the passage out of context. 
 
Jesus did say that the hundredfold blessing would bring about persecution but He didn’t say that prosperous believers will be persecuted by fellow believers as Joseph Prince has made it out to be. Joseph Prince, by stating that that’s what Jesus teaches when that is furthest from His mind is to make Christ, the Son of God, a liar. 
 
When Jesus said to Peter and the rest of the apostles that the hundredfold blessing would include persecution in Mark 10:30, He meant it to a tee 
– when all 12 apostles were severely persecuted 
– with 11 of them to their death. 
 
Compare the persecution of the Apostles with that to Joseph Prince’s claim that he is being persecuted just because he is prosperous – doesn’t Prince feel a sense of shame? 
 
As a matter of fact, I feel deeply embarrassed for him!

I have solid proof that Joseph Prince is the False Prophet that was identified by Christ in Matthew 7:15-16 from a contextual study, and by a factual comparison between the narrow road gospel of Jesus and the broad road ‘gospel’ of Joseph Prince.

Joseph Prince preaches the broad and easy road that a one-minute sinner’s prayer can gain eternity in heaven. 
Jesus preaches the narrow and difficult road that one has to make every effort to enter God’s kingdom (Lk 13:24). 
 
Joseph Prince preaches the broad and easy road that there is no more sin to deal with as every sin has been forgiven. 
Jesus preaches the narrow and difficult road that if you don’t repent of your sin, you will be severely judged, and you will perish (Lk 13:3,5; Rev 2-3). 
 
Joseph Prince preaches the broad and easy road that obedience has nothing to do with being saved. 
Jesus preaches the narrow and difficult road that if you don’t obey and do the will of the Father, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven (Matt 7:13-14,21-23). 
 
Joseph Prince preaches the broad and easy road that there are no more laws to obey. 
Jesus preaches the narrow and difficult road that if you are lawless, you will be barred from the kingdom of heaven (Matt 7:23).

In a sermon preached at Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church and aired on YouTube on 18 February 2020, Joseph Prince said the following: 
 
“You know when Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount, He said, ‘Love your enemies.” We’ve got problems loving our neighbour, let alone our enemies. He said, ‘If your right eye offend you, pluck it out. Throw it away from you. If your hand offend you, cut it off.’ Have you seen any church, anyone doing that? The church will look like a huge amputation ward. 
 
“He didn’t mean for you to pluck out your eye and cut off your hand. ‘Oh Pastor Prince, you should have come earlier.’ Clap your stubs all together. At least, you still got your eyeball." 
 
By making those frivolous statements, what do you think Joseph Prince was up to? 
 
Prince was making fun of the Sermon on the Mount that was preached by Jesus. 
 
Prince’s message is this – that what Jesus, who is God Himself, preached up on the Mount, is simply ridiculous as it is impossible to be obeyed. 
 
Joseph Prince by his teaching that the laws in the Sermon on the Mount are impossible to be obeyed, is actually taking us to the lake of fire.

In the last video, we have approached John 14:1-3 from the perspective of the work of salvation through the cross that Christ has accomplished for believers. Because of the cross, Christ has brought about an abiding relationship, not just with Him but also with Father God. 
 
In this video, I’m approaching it from the kingdom perspective – that Christ will come back to establish His kingdom on planet earth in His millennial rule. While only one of the two perspectives can be the true interpretation of the text, both are exegetically sounder than the rapture view of Joseph Prince and the Pre-tribbers. 
 
They teach that John 14:1-3 is pointing to a Pre-trib rapture to escape tribulation as Jesus would return and take all believers to His Father’s house in heaven where they would live in heavenly mansions for 7 years. 
 
But one must note that both rapture and heaven are not even mentioned in the text. The text says nothing about a Pre-trib rapture or that Jesus’ ministry in heaven is building mansions. 
 
Ephesians 1:20 and Romans 8:34 affirm that Jesus as our High Priest is now seated at the right hand of the Father’s throne in heaven making intercession for the saints. The Bible never presents Jesus as one who is building literal mansions in the sky for His people! 
 
The text doesn’t say He will take us to heaven when He returns 
but that He will return so that they will be all together again. Jesus is returning to the earth to reign as King of kings and Lord of lords and that’s where the saints will dwell ─ in the earthly millennial kingdom, not in mansions in the sky.

Joseph Prince and Pre-tribbers have erroneously claimed that the Blessed Hope in Titus 2:13 refers to the Pre-trib rapture to escape tribulation. They pounce on the King James translation to advance such a claim. Revelation 3:10 is one key text that Joseph Prince and the Pre-tribbers used to prove their Pre-trib rapture. But as I shall unveil in the ensuing discussion, there is little evidence of such a proof. 
 
There are two possibilities in which Revelation 3:10 could be interpreted. The first is that Christ will keep them out of the trials. This is the position of Joseph Prince and the Pre-tribbers, who then went on to say that in order to keep the Church out of the trial, she would have to be removed from planet earth through the rapture. 
 
But there is the second rendering of the text – it is that Christ will keep or protect them from the trial, though this does not preclude them from going through the trial, which is the position of Post-trib. Because the text could be interpreted both ways, Revelation 3:10 is not an explicit text that supports Pre-trib rapture. 
 
What we are seeing is yet again another example of Joseph Prince’s Pre-trib rapture doctrine being forcibly imposed on a Biblical text (Rev 3:10), when the text is silent. So it is rather presumptuous for Pre-tribbers to build their Pre-trib rapture doctrine so heavily on Revelation 3:10.

1 Thessalonians 5:9 is often used as a proof text for the Pre-trib rapture. “For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 
 
Joseph Prince, governed by his Pre-trib theology argues this way – that since we are not appointed to wrath and wrath equals tribulation, we will be raptured out of this world before the 7-year tribulation begins. 
 
Here Joseph Prince and the Pre-tribbers have blatantly added to the word of God. They have replaced the word ‘wrath’ with ‘tribulation’. 
 
If Joseph Prince really knows his English, he ought to know that “wrath’ is not only spelt differently, it also does not have the same meaning as ‘tribulation’. They are two different words, and they aren’t synonymous. 
 
In my previous videos, I have already proven that God’s wrath is not the same as tribulation as Joseph Prince and the Pre-tribbers would have us believe. 
 
While it is true that 1 Thessalonians 5:9 states that believers are not appointed to God’s wrath, it requires a leap of logic for Joseph Prince to go on to say that this verse then justifies the removal of the Church from the earth in the Pre-trib rapture, even though the word or idea of ‘rapture’ or ‘tribulation’ is not even found in the verse. 
 
Is tribulation mentioned in the text? No! Is rapture mentioned? No! So how can one build a doctrine that rapture must happen before tribulation on this text? 
 
When both words ‘rapture’ and ‘tribulation’ are totally absent from the text, a Pre-trib rapture cannot be proven. 
 
In order to support the Pre-trib doctrine, Joseph Prince and the Pre-tribbers have assumed that the word ‘wrath’ in the text, means ‘tribulation’. 
 
It is an unwarranted biblical assumption because not a single passage in all of scripture defines tribulation as God’s wrath. The scripture does not support such an assumption. 
 
In summary, Joseph Prince in his teaching that believers will be raptured before tribulation based on God’s wrath in 1 Thessalonian 5:9 is untenable and must be rejected. 
 
The simple reason is God’s wrath is never equated with tribulation in the scriptures.

Whether the rapture occurs before or after tribulation has already been settled by Jesus in Matthew 24:29-31: 
“But immediately after the tribulation of those days THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory. And He will send forth His angels with A GREAT TRUMPET BLAST, and THEY WILL GATHER TOGETHER His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other. 
 
Matthew 24:29-31 is the first of three texts that proves the Post-trib rapture. The other two are Mark 13:24-27 and 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12. Matthew 24:29-31 showed unmistakably that the rapture and resurrection event does not come before the tribulation but after it. We are called to be Post-tribulationists because Jesus is Post-tribulationist. Jesus Himself said that He will return and the rapture will take place “after the tribulation” and nowhere did He say “before.” Jesus does not even hint at a Pre-trib rapture, but only His Post-trib coming.

Joseph Prince and the Pre-tribbers claim that when Jesus comes back again in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, He is coming to take believers back to heaven. They use the argument that the saints will meet the Lord “in the air” to prove their theory that Christ does not come back to earth at this time, but returns to heaven. 
 
Joseph Prince teaches that Jesus will pause in the air, gather the saints, and then go back to heaven for seven years. Although Paul says believers will be snatched up in the air to meet Jesus, 
he never says that Jesus would turn around, switch direction and go back up to heaven for seven years. Joseph Prince and Pre-tribbers have to insert that into the text to prove their doctrine. 
 
No, a rapture to escape tribulation is not taught in the scriptures. This is especially so if we understand what it means for the Lord to descend from heaven in 1 Thessalonians 4:16. But one must note that the word translated “descend” in 1 Thessalonians 4:16 always implies a complete descent. Every other New Testament use of this expression “descend from heaven” in the many Bible verses refers to a descent all the way to the earth. 1 Thessalonians 4:16, which records Jesus descending from heaven is no exception. Nowhere in the text of 1 Thessalonians 4:16 does the word “descending” imply a reversal. 
 
So, the picture is not Jesus descending from heaven to meet us in the air. Then He does a reverse gear and bring the saints to heaven. But rather, it is we meeting Jesus in the air as He descends from heaven all the way to earth. 
 
But Joseph Prince and the Pre-tribbers have a very strange way of reading this passage. They say the Lord will come down and meet us in the air and then make a U-Turn back to heaven. Jesus, making a U-Turn back to heaven is not in the text. Joseph Prince has to read into the text in order for the Pre-trib doctrine to make sense. 
 
The most natural and logical way of interpreting the text 
is for Jesus to descend all the way down from heaven to earth. That being the case, the Pre-trib rapture that is built on 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 is untenable.

Joseph Prince is well known for his ‘You are once righteous always righteous’ doctrine. John 10:28 is the key text of Joseph Prince in defending his ‘you are forever saved, and you will never perish’ doctrine. In the other videos that I’ve personally viewed, 
Joseph Prince just told the audience about the promise in John 10:28 that we will never perish – and giving them the false idea that the promise comes with no conditions. He didn’t tell them that there are conditions attached to the ‘you will never perish’ promise in verse 28, which are found in the preceding verse in verse 27. 
 
To fully understand John 10:28, we must examine John 10:27, which gives the context and the condition to John 10:28. We must examine who these pronouns ‘them’ and ‘they’ in John 10:28 are referring to in John 10:27. From one quick reading, it becomes clear that the ‘them’ and the ‘they’ in verse 28 refer to those sheep, who listen to Christ and follow Him in verse 27. 
So now it’s pretty clear that the promise of having eternal life, never perishing and none can snatch you out of Christ’s hands in verse 28, is not unconditional as Joseph Prince has deceptively presented it to be. The promise in verse 28 that “they shall never perish” is conditional upon the sheep listening to Christ and following Him in verse 27. To insist on the promise in verse 28 as Joseph Prince has done without highlighting the condition in verse 27 is to distort Jesus’ teaching. So, it is very clear that the promise about having eternal life, never perishing, and none can snatch them out of God’s hand in verse 28, is only to those sheep who listen and follow Christ in verse 27. If one isn’t willing to obey and follow Christ in verse 27, the promise in verse 28 is not his to claim.

Joseph Prince said in a video, “And I’ve shared this down through the years – the word ‘takes away’ in the Greek is the Greek word, ‘airo’ which actually is to ‘lift up.’” “But if the branch is not bearing fruit, God does not kick the branch. God does not slap the branch – ah too bad, you fell. No, what the Lord does to help it bear fruit is the Lord lifts up.” But what Joseph Prince said in the video is not true in the context of John 15:1-6. As a matter of fact, it contradicts the context – as the fruitless branch will not be lifted up as Joseph Prince has falsely taught but cut off in John 15:2 and thrown into the fire and burned in John 15:6. 
 
To ‘lift up’ is just one possible way to translate the Greek word, ‘airo’. Joseph Prince is giving you the false impression that that is the only way ‘airo’ should be translated. But according to Strong’s Concordance and Thayer’s Greek Lexicon, there are many other possible ways to translate the word, ‘airo’ that Joseph Prince has deliberately hidden from you. Some of the other possible meanings of ‘airo’ are: To take off or take away what is attached to anything. To remove. To take away from another what is his or what is committed to him, to take by force. To take from among the living either by natural death, or by violence. To cause to cease. Did Joseph Prince tell you what I just told you? Of course not! He doesn’t want you to know there are many other possible ways of translating the Greek word, ‘airo’. By not letting you know about such information, he wants you to be deceived that ‘lifts up’ is the only way of translating ‘airo’. 
 
I’ve checked 58 translations, including NKJV, and I’ve found that none of them translates the Greek word, ‘airo’ as ‘lifts up’, 
the view that Joseph Prince asserts. While about half, 28 of the 58 translations have chosen ‘takes away’ the same words used in NKJV, the other half have settled on equivalent words such as: ‘cuts off’ or ‘cuts away’ or ‘removes’, or ‘breaks off’ or lops off’, which is just as close to the meaning of the words, ‘takes away’ as chosen by NKJV. So Joseph Prince is the only one who tries to push the false view that ‘airo’ should be translated as ‘lifts up’. But the greater indictment against Joseph Prince is his unholy daringness to twist the words of Christ yet again, this time in John 15:2 just so that his Grace Theology can be protected from being exposed.

If you remember in the previous video in Part 1, Joseph Prince claimed that the word, ‘life’ in Matthew 7:14, is not referring to eternal life but this earthly life. 
 
This is what he said, “It is not talking about the life to come; it’s talking about this life. Nowhere does Jesus say few that are that find eternal life. He says narrow is the way that leads to life, not eternal life. In the last video, I’ve dealt with the text of Matthew 7:13-14 from the overall context of the Sermon on the Mount and its immediate context of Matthew 7:13-23. And I’ve proven that the word ‘life’ in Matthew 7:14 refers to eternal life and not just this earthly life that Joseph Prince falsely teaches. 
 
The next step is to investigate that when the word ‘life’ is mentioned in other passages of the Bible, does it refer to just earthly life or does it encompass the meaning of eternal life? 
If I can show that when the word ‘life’ appears in many texts, it does refer to eternal life, even though the word ‘life’ isn’t prefixed by the word ‘eternal’, Joseph Prince’s simplistic interpretation would be discredited. 
 
Next, Joseph Prince postured the view that the word, ‘destruction’ in Matthew 7:13 is not referring to spiritual or eternal destruction but physical, emotional and other kinds of earthly destruction. 
 
In order to check whether Joseph Prince is correctly interpreting the text or merely offering a flimsy explanation just to protect his grace doctrine, we would have to investigate that when the word ‘destruction’ is used in other passages of the Bible, does it refer to just destruction in this earthly life or does it encompass the meaning of spiritual or eternal destruction? From an examination of the above verses (see video), one would come to the clear conclusion that when the word ‘destruction’ is mentioned, it does refer to spiritual and eternal destruction. So, it is the case with Matthew 7:13. Joseph Prince’s view that ‘destruction’ in Matthew 7:13 is referring to physical and emotional destruction, and not spiritual and eternal destruction, is obviously a lie that is concocted by him to deceive the flock. 
 
Finally, Joseph Prince said, “And do you know that many believers on the wrong road but they will still be in heaven because they have Christ? Amen. But meanwhile, they are on the road to destruction. Destruction what? – Physically, emotionally, in other ways, not spiritual, okay, you understand.” 
 
By what Joseph Prince said, he has totally undone what Jesus came to warn us of – that believers can find themselves on the broad road to eternal destruction – which refers to hell. Do you realise the catastrophe that Joseph Prince’s teachings can cause? Here Jesus is warning believers that if they are on the wrong road, they can land themselves in destruction, in hell – and here comes Joseph Prince totally contradicting what Jesus came to warn us of – that you will never go to hell because that’s not what Jesus meant Matthew 7:13 to be – giving believers a false and dangerous sense of assurance. In other words, those who don’t pay heed to the warning of Jesus and listen to Joseph Prince, hell would be the place they would end up in. This is why I have said time and again that Joseph Prince’s teachings can, indeed, lead one to hell. “The many goats who travel on the broad road of Joseph Prince will lead to destruction but the few sheep who travel on the narrow road of the Prince of Peace will lead to life.” (George Ong)

In the many videos that I’ve produced, I’ve shown that Joseph Prince is prepared to do anything to prevent the falsity of his grace theology from being exposed. He is even prepared to twist the words of Jesus by teaching that the word ‘life’ in Matthew 7:14 does not refer to eternal life but this earthly life, and the word ‘destruction’ in Matthew 7:13 does not refer to eternal destruction, but earthly destruction. This is what Joseph Prince has postured in his video. I can’t believe this – how could a world-renowned teacher offer such a flimsy and amateurish explanation on such a crucial issue? There is no attempt to do any exegesis of the text at all. Any sensible and competent Bible teacher would have advised that since Matthew 7:13-14 is located in the Sermon on the Mount, it must be interpreted in the larger context of it, which begins at Matthew 5:1 and ends at Matthew 7:27. This is what I am going to show you now. 
 
Beginning in Matthew 5, Jesus talks about the Beatitudes starting in Matthew 5:3 and ending with Matthew 5:10. The focus of Jesus is that those whose lives embody the Beatitudes in Matthew chapter 5, verses 3-10, would inherit the kingdom of heaven or the kingdom of God. In Matthew 5:17-20, Jesus then taught about the kind of righteousness which must surpass that of the Pharisees in order to enter the kingdom of heaven. So clearly, at the outset in the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5:3-10, and Matthew 5:20, what Jesus is focussing on is whether one can enter the Kingdom of God, Jesus then goes on to give many concrete examples about the kind of righteousness that would entail to enter God’s kingdom or avoid the fire of hell. Jesus said that if one is angry with his brother without a cause or insults his brother by calling him a fool, he will be in danger of the fire of hell. Jesus also said that it is crucial to deal with the problem of lust than for one to be thrown into hell. So at the beginning of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus is really talking about heaven and hell. Jesus is not talking about life on earth 
but whether one can have eternal life by entering the kingdom of God. 
 
So, the thrust of Jesus is the same when He comes to Matthew 7:13-14. Matthew 7:13-14 must have everything to do with what goes before it – about entering God’s kingdom or be thrown into the fire of hell. Hence, the most natural and logical interpretation would be that the word, ‘life’ in Matthew 7:14 is referring to eternal life, and not just this earthly life that Joseph Prince falsely teaches. Matthew 7:13-14 also has to be interpreted in its immediate context of Matthew 7:13-23. Matthew 7:21-23 specifically talks about the many who thought they would enter the kingdom of God but couldn’t. Entering or not entering the Kingdom of God in Matthew 7:21-23 has to do with our final destiny of either the possession of eternal life or that one has been disqualified from it. So similarly, Matthew 7:13-14 is also talking about our ultimate destiny of whether one has eternal life or not – and if not, then one would be eternally damned. 
 
Why is Joseph Prince posturing such a view that ‘life’ in Matthew 7:14 refers to earthly life and not eternal life, and ‘destruction’ in Matthew 7:13 refers to earthly destruction and not eternal destruction? The reason is that Jesus in Matthew 7:13-14 is clearly teaching on the crucial importance of costly discipleship – that the road to eternal life is narrow and difficult. Jesus is also warning us against cheap and easy Christianity – that the broad road leads to eternal destruction. Costly discipleship which Jesus teaches is what Joseph Prince teaches against. And cheap and easy Christianity which Jesus is against is what Joseph Prince promotes. This is why Joseph Prince has to twist the text of Matthew 7:13-14 – that life in Matthew 7:14 is not eternal life but earthly life, and destruction in Matthew 7:13 is not eternal destruction but earthly destruction. If Joseph Prince has the audacity to twist the very words of Jesus, who is God Himself, he can never be a true teacher of God’s word.

This video is Part 1 of a series of 3 on the same topic. By now, many of you would be aware that Joseph Prince teaches the false doctrine that there is no place for believers to confess their sins to be forgiven as all their sins have been forgiven at the cross. This is based on his argument that while 1 John chapters 2-5 were written for believers, 1 John chapter 1, of which 1 John 1:9 is located, was written to unbelievers, not believers. This only goes to show the recklessness of Joseph Prince who dares to teach such a view even though it can be so easily disproven. 
 
Let’s start by focusing on a few keywords in 1 John 1:9. The first keyword is ‘we’. The Apostle John said, “If we confess our sins ...” Since the author, John uses the word, ‘we’, he is including himself as one among those who needs to confess his sins in order to obtain forgiveness. Is John a believer or an unbeliever? A believer, of course! John, as the author, is using the words ‘we’, ‘our’ and ‘us’, as he is representing all believers who need to confess their sins. Therefore, it is impossible that John was referring to the unsaved people of the world when he used the pronouns ‘we’, ‘our’ and ‘us’. How can John lump himself who is saved together with the unsaved people by using the words ‘we’, ‘our’ and ‘us’? When John used the terms ‘we’, ‘our’ and ‘us’ 
he was referring to Christians, such as himself, not unbelievers. 
 
Furthermore, the Greek is even more explicitly against Joseph Prince’s interpretation since the word, ‘confess’ in the Greek in 1 John 1:9 speaks of continuous, present action as opposed to a one-time act. This means that we, as believers, are to confess our sins on a regular basis. It does not refer to a one-time confession of sins for unbelievers to receive Christ for salvation 
as Joseph Prince has falsely made it out to be. In other words, confessing of sins when a Christian sins from time to time is an on-going affair, but the confessing of sins for unbelievers to receive Christ as Saviour and Lord is a one-time act. So, the confessing of sins in 1 John 1:9, which is a continuous and present action, is definitely referring to believers and not to unbelievers as claimed by Joseph Prince. 
 
There are also other reasons I have given in this video that have proven that 1 John 1:9 was indeed written to believers (not unbelievers) for them to confess their sins to obtain forgiveness from God. This video is Part 1 of a series of 3 on the same topic. By now, many of you would be aware that Joseph Prince teaches the false doctrine that there is no place for believers to confess their sins to be forgiven as all their sins have been forgiven at the cross. This is based on his argument that while 1 John chapters 2-5 were written for believers, 1 John chapter 1, of which 1 John 1:9 is located, was written to unbelievers, not believers. This only goes to show the recklessness of Joseph Prince who dares to teach such a view even though it can be so easily disproven.
