Grateful that we always have something to rejoice in because we are always loved. We always have a listening ear. God is at the ready to hear our sighs, our longing, our sadness, our struggles, and our joys. And God only knows how gratitude helps shift our perspective, even when we are walking through seasons of sorrow. This verse has helped remind me that no matter what I’m facing, I never have to face anything alone.

This was one of the first verses I ever memorized. We marched around Mrs. Jung’s choir room for our girls' bible study in high school and sang these words to the tune of The Ants Go Marching One by One. Sounds funny, but I have always been amazed by how deeply the promises in this verse have sunk into my memory and my heart. That familiar melody was the glue that helped it stick. I have been looking at verses over the past few weeks that I want to sing and pray over our brothers and sisters in Ukraine, and this is certainly one of them. Hoping this new melody I wrote helps these beautiful promises of perfect peace sink down into your memories and your hearts. #MemoryMondays #shorts

It's another Memory Monday! Thanks so much to all of you who have shared and tagged me in these posts. It is SO fun seeing words of light and life and hope get shared across social media. 
 
This week's verse is Psalm 73:26. It's one of the first verses I ever memorized, and I love that it presumes that we will not always get it right. We don't have to feel defined by our failures or mistakes. God knows we'll get it wrong a lot. This is why He sent Jesus...to rescue, to redeem every mistake we'd ever make. We can come just as we are with all of our mistakes, failures, mishaps, misturns, and be completely welcomed into the arms of the one who made us and loves us unconditionally. Our portion is love, mercy, hope, light, and belonging.....forever. Thanks for singing along with me, friends. It's been a joy.

Meditating on and memorizing scripture has been one of the most beautiful practices in my life. It’s like burying treasure deep in your heart, so you have an ever-present source of light and hope even in the darkest night. 
 
I’m inviting you to memorize each of these verses with me each week and to help them stick, I’ll be writing a little melody to help us remember it and will post it here each week! Can’t wait to hear stories about how memorizing these beautiful promises will encourage, guide, and comfort you along the journey!! Here’s our first verse!
