The inukshuk has become a Canadian icon, but did you know it has been used by different Inuit groups in the Arctic to mark locations?  It can become blindingly white on the tundra, and so these inukshuks serve to provide direction and memories to those traveling.  But what does an inukshuk have to do with 1 Peter 1:2-6?

Paul was encouraged when the Philippian church gave generous gifts to him and writes back that God sees their generosity and will meet their needs too, according to the riches found in the glory of Jesus.

A Little Good News: Philippians 4:18-19

The Apostle Paul gave a list of reasons why he should have impressed the religious people around him but, as we see in this video, writes about how the good things he has done or inherited, are nothing when compared to what Jesus has done on his behalf. 
 
The same applies to anyone who follows Jesus. The impressive things you have accomplished, as we are about to find out, are garbage when put beside Jesus.

A Little Good News: Philippians 1:28-29

There was a crisis going on during the writing of Philippians. People took it upon themselves to preach in order to gain their own following. As people preached Christ to gain the things that they desired, whether that be money, power or fame, Paul saw one key thing: the Gospel of Jesus was still being preached. While this is not an excuse for selfishness in the service of Christ, this is a tremendous reassurance to each of us that regardless of what happens around us, things that were meant for bad can be used to bring glory to Jesus. This includes your current isolation. This includes all our current financial hardships. This includes your struggle. God can use these things to bring people to know Jesus and that is a little good news.
