What are we to make of the events in the US of the week past? Riots, unrest, chaos, lies, death, the undermining of democracy, the rise of conspiracy, fear and violence - and the damaging association of these things with the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ? How is the world meant to see and understand the love of God in all of this?

What about in our own country? The continued spread of Coronavirus? Fears about vaccines, the pressure on our healthcare and education systems, the eradication of trust in our leaders? What as Christians are we meant to do with this?

“God gave us a spirit not of fear, but of power, and love and self control. Therefore, do not be ashamed about the testimony of our Lord.” (2 Timothy 1:7b-8a)
