Song # 2125 from Our Gospel In Song Collection by Col Johnston. We read from Psalm 71 that God has done marvellous deeds and we need to praise and thank Him for what He has done for us.
Since my youth, oh God, you have taught me, and to this day I declare your marvellous deeds (Psalm 71:17). Even when I am old and grey, do not forsake me, oh God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your might to all who are to come (Psalm 71:18). Your righteousness reaches to the skies, oh God, you who have done great things, Who, oh God, is like you? (Psalm 71:19). Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up (Psalm 71:20). You will increase my honour and comfort me once again (Psalm 71:21). I will praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, oh my God; I will sing praise to you with the lyre, oh Holy One of Israel (Psalm 71:22). My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you - I, whom you have redeemed (Psalm 71:23). My tongue will tell of your righteous acts all day long, for those who wanted to harm me have been put to shame and confusion (Psalm 71:24).
Thought for today: the world may not love God, but God loves the world.
Thought for tomorrow: our God is an awesome God. Where will you spend your eternity?
