Morning Verses With Mike
Deuteronomy 20:1 (NLT)
“When you go out to fight your enemies and you face horses and chariots and an army greater than your own, do not be afraid. The Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, is with you!"

The book of Deuteronomy is Moses' final message to the people before entering Canaan. It talks about understanding the big picture that God has set forth for us. It's about looking past the surface to see what God has in store for us. Chapter 20 in Deuteronomy starts in on the regulations for war. It is a reminder that God will be our protector when we remain faithful and follow his example.

For me, this verse is a reminder to be a warrior for Christ and not a worrier in life. We sometimes face "wars" on different battlefields. It's not always the army, horses, and chariots that are so easily spotted. We face daily war with ourselves and with fear. We question, we contemplate, and we sometimes doubt what we are doing, because the army of fear is overtaking us. We wait for our plans to be perfect with our own "army" so that we can take perfect action, our battle plan is in place; when that happens, remember this: the best-laid battle plans never executed, die on the battlefield. Take action! God is with you on every front. He is with you in each battle. And you have heard it before… if He brought you to it… He'll deliver you through it! DO NOT FEAR! #FAITH
