Jonah is called by God to preach to Nineveh, after first rejecting this call, he finally obeys God. He preaches yet 40 days and Nineveh will be overthrown, this causes the people of the kingdom along with the King and the nobles to Repent, to Turn from evil, to put on sackcloth. God saw what they did and turned from destroying them.
