We are now in the last two Sundays of the Church Year, which means that all our Scripture readings over the next two weeks specifically deal with Christ’s teachings on the Last Day, the Day of Judgment, the Day when all the dead throughout the ages of time will hear the voice of God’s Son and come out of their graves; And those who have done what is good will rise to the resurrection that leads to life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of damnation.

In other words, we are now in a critical period of knowledge and understanding for all Christians.
