When Paul instructs the church about giving it is never about duty, obligation or law. It is a gift of God's grace. An opportunity for us to participate in what He is doing in the world. He shows us the promise of our Abba's provision and multiplication in order to increase our harvest of righteousness. Giving doesn't make us righteous but flows from the gift of His righteousness and brings others into the embrace of the same gift. He gives us the beautiful promise to enrich us ever more that we might be ever more generous to advancing our Kings reign. This brings glory to God and thanksgiving.
