Church roles can be confusing, complex, and sometimes, even confrontational. And because of the complexity of ecclesiology (the study on church), most people would rather avoid the subject of church and even refrain from committing to any local church. This is one factor for why most churches today have no formal membership. Others, on the other hand, commit themselves to local churches but only if their pastors agree with them.

What does the Bible really teach about church Elders and Members? How are Elders supposed to lead churches? And are Members really expected to submit to church Elders? If so, in what areas of their lives?

This is both a sermon and a lecture on the divine calling and roles that God has for His people - both Elders AND Members.
