Genesis 47:13-26 – This is the 86th in a series of messages through the Book of Genesis preached at Island Baptist Church in Beach Haven, NJ. Visit us on the web at www.hopeoflbi.com.

If you hadn’t eaten for several days, what would you be willing to surrender for food? Now what if you hadn’t eaten in weeks and you’d reached the point of starvation, what then would you be willing to surrender? As the need increases so does the value, and as value increases so does a person’s willingness to forfeit things he or she never imagined possible. Jesus Christ is not interested in being a co-owner or a co-king of your life. He demands full surrender, yet all of us are reluctant to do so. Could it be that our reluctance to surrender certain parts of our life to the authority of Christ is because we’ve yet to see the true depth of our need? Once the need for Him increases so too will our willingness to surrender control over those hard to release areas. What if the Lord has something to say to you about surrendering control through this message in Genesis 47…will you listen?
