There are many who acknowledge the historical fact that Jesus lived; they are correct. There are those who accept not only that Jesus lived, but that He died on a Roman cross; they too, are correct. Then there are those who believe Jesus lived, Jesus died, and that He was a miracle worker whose sacrificial love for people should be followed; they also are correct. None of these beliefs are wrong, but none of them will save anyone on the Day of Judgment. Join us on Sunday as we examine two case studies of people whose partial pictures of Jesus needed to be made perfect, and what happened when they discovered the Gospel that saves.

“A Partial Picture” – Acts 18:24–9:7

A Christian is a forgiven sinner whose will has been shattered by the grace imparted to him by a merciful Redeemer. Paul was just such a redeemed sinner. Once a bullheaded picture of obstinance and self-determination, Paul was transformed into a broken-willed bondslave the day Christ opened his eyes to the truth. His new life was shaped by a bent heart, yielded in humble submission to the will of the Redeemer who’d forgiven him. Paul’s progressive yieldedness to the will of God is recorded by Dr. Luke in the Book of Acts as an example for Christians of every generation. This Sunday, October 2nd, join us as we learn to yearn for the same cheerful yieldedness that made Paul a model of spiritual maturity.

Yes of course, we call that person a...“CHRISTIAN.” The idea that “missions” is an optional “program” in the Church, where Christians are free to opt in or out, is a myth with no basis in the Bible. The mission of God is the work of every person of God, and Christians are the people set apart by God for the purpose of God on the earth. Join us this Sunday as we look closely at the first missionary journey of the Apostle Paul, as he set the Church afire to complete, “The Mission of God.”

"How Great Is Our God," is a song written in 2004 by Chris Tomlin, Jesse Reeves and Ed Cash. It is considered by many to be one of the most influential Christian songs of all time – and for one simple reason – it’s true. Yet the fact remains, that not even Tomlin himself is able to fathom just how great this God truly is. King David said, “Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom” (Ps.145:3). God’s greatness is beyond the reach of human comprehension. Miracles give us a glimpse of that greatness. The historical record of the advancement of the Christian movement around the world is marked by acts of God that transcend the boundaries of both natural law and human understanding. Join us on Sunday, May 1st, as we approach the unfathomable dimensions of, “The Greatness of God.”

“A Case Study of a Counterfeit” – Acts 8:9-24

At the risk of making you nauseous, please accept the invitation to consider briefly why the human body was made to regurgitate whenever a potentially harmful substance is present within. The act of regurgitation (vomiting) is the body’s way of purging the poison that’s killing it. It’s a blessing to be able to vomit. Believe it or not, this is the way the Bible describes the blessing of repentance. Repentance is regurgitation in the human heart. Repentance is the act of ridding yourself of the poisonous things in your heart that are killing you, and experiencing the full blessing and refreshment that results from turning to face the God who loves you. Join us this Sunday as we examine the rewards promised to those who live the lifestyle of repentance.

“The Reward of Repentance” – Acts 3:17-26

The writers of the New Testament seemed very comfortable using phrases like, “the Holy Spirit says…” (Heb.3:7) or, “Now the Spirit expressly says…” (1Tim.4:1), or, “The Spirit Himself testifies…” (Rm.8:16). But exactly how did the Holy Spirit speak to them? When the first followers of Jesus realized that the time had come to find a replacement for Judas the betrayer, they needed to hear from Jesus…but Jesus was gone. Join us in person at 8am or 10am, or virtually via our weekly livestream at 10am, as we examine how the Apostles went about discerning the will of Jesus through His Spirit, and how the Spirit guides His followers today when we need to hear from Jesus.

“KOINŌNIA” – 2 Timothy 4:19-22

Prior to his 20th birthday, Jonathan Edwards wrote 70 resolutions that would shape the convictions by which he lived his life. Perhaps the most significant of the 70 were the first two: Resolution #1 – “I will live for God.” Resolution #2 – “If no one else does, I still will.” The time is fast approaching when Christians the world over will decide whether or not we’re ready to declare the same. The time is fast approaching when each of us will choose between compromise for comfort’s sake, and standing alone for Christ’s sake. The time is fast approaching when the foundations of our faith will be tested by fire. Please join us this Sunday as we examine the final moments in the courageous life of the Apostle Paul, who remained standing when nearly all his allies had deserted him.

“Resolve to Stand Alone” – 2 Timothy 4:9-18

One thing we’ve learned over the past year and a half is that words matter. What we proclaim as “truth” matters. Jesus pointed our attention to the gravity of our proclamations when He said, “But I tell you that men will give an account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned” (Mt.12:36-37). Preaching is the proclamation of, explanation of and application of the very Words of God. Jesus preached the Word. His followers preached the Word. His church has been commissioned to preach the Word. This Sunday, we invite you to ask a simple question – are your expectations for those who preach God’s Word, the same as God’s expectations? Your local church is uniquely positioned for abuse because we who follow Jesus are charged to be a source of benevolence to those who are truly in need. But what exactly is a church's responsibility toward orphans, widows and other vulnerable segments in our communities? Would it surprise you to know that the Apostle Paul wrote very explicit instructions to a young Pastor named Timothy about caring for the verifiably vulnerable? This message will shed light on a subject of major confusion for many believers.
