I'm doing daily Bible verse readings to share, grow, and impact others for good!

James 1:2-4 (NLT)
'2 Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.'

The book of James is about walking the talk. It’s about taking action to move, rather than just standing still and acting on what we say we believe in.

The opening verse here dives right in that when any troubles or struggles are headed your way - because there will be some. See the opportunity. Find the joy rather than the hardship. We are not being instructed to be naive or ignorant of the trials rather to relabel or rewire our thinking. Find the silver lining.

Moving to verse three, we are reminded that the trials in life are about our trust. When we are tested is when we grow the most. It’s like working out - you gain the most out of pushing yourself really enduring through more reps than what you are normally accustomed to.

The closeout in this is that when we continue to persevere and we reach a maturity in our faith, just like the bodybuilder pushing through that rep, or better yet, like the runner that pushes themselves through just one more mile; so to do we gain and enduring level of faith in God.

None of us is there right now. But the key is to continue to grow.
