One thing we’ve learned over the past year and a half is that words matter. What we proclaim as “truth” matters. Jesus pointed our attention to the gravity of our proclamations when He said, “But I tell you that men will give an account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned” (Mt.12:36-37). Preaching is the proclamation of, explanation of and application of the very Words of God. Jesus preached the Word. His followers preached the Word. His church has been commissioned to preach the Word. This Sunday, we invite you to ask a simple question – are your expectations for those who preach God’s Word, the same as God’s expectations? We invite you to join us this Sunday at 10am to see for yourself what God expects from those who proclaim the truth.
