Roast and eat the lamb or goat whole, take the blood and post it on the sides and top of the door post, eat it with your cloths on and your staff in your hand, this night you will be thrust out by Pharaoh.

God is about to deliver them out of Egypt, they were to start a feast to take place each year on the same day to commemorate the Passover. When the LORD see the blood on the door post He will passover their house from the death angel.
