Words and music by Debra L. Morey Racz

I first heard this song at a camp meeting in Washington State in 1987. It was the first song I had ever heard about the sanctuary that actually tried to explain the symbolism of the sanctuary service. It's still the best song I've ever heard on the subject.

From the (A)alter, to the (E)laver, to the (A)very first (D)veil,
Thou hast (A)shown me that I must be (E)cleansed.
At the (A)table of (E)shew bread Thou pre(A)parest a (D)meal
And to (A)us Your fellow(E)ship You'll ex(A)tend.

Chorus:
Thy (D)way, O God, is in the (C#m)Sanctuary.
Thy (D)plan, O Lord, has been re(E)vealed;
And (A)Thou art my (E)High Priest who (A)lives for e(D)ver;
And (A)with Thy (E)law I am (A)sealed.

(A)Thou art the (E)light of the (A)world, O (D)Lord.
It's through Your (A)candlestick of gold I compre(E)hend
That the (A)oil of Your (E)Spirit has flowed (A)through our (D)lives
To re(A)veal Your (E)kingdom to (A)men.

(Chorus)

Let my (A)prayers ascend be(E)fore You at the (A)alter of (D)incense.
Mix my (A)praise with Your own righteous(E)ness.
Blot the (A)record of my (E)sins from the (A)horns of Your (D)alter.
Take my (A)stains and give me (E)Your spotless(D)ness.

(Chorus)

Yes, the (A)ark contains the (E)covenant that's to (A)last throughout e(D)ternity.
You'll write Your (A)law in my heart and my (E)mind.
And may this (A)poor wooden (E)vessel be covered (A)by Your di(D)vinity,
As Your (A)mercies I con(E)tinually (A)find.
