After addressing the recent guidelines for in-person services, Pastor Evan Brown continues his teaching from the book of Mark, chapter 10. In three different, yet interwoven episodes, Jesus explains to the disciples and the Pharisees what consequence even the smallest degree of separation has: it leads to divorce in marriage, it leads to disengagement when children are kept away from Jesus, and for the rich young man: his possessions (or for us today: any kind of entanglement) caused him to not follow Jesus. Let's remember that Jesus said: what God has joined together, let no man separate. Jesus has joined Himself to us; it behooves us to separate (divorce) ourselves from our old ways of life to join ourselves to Him! Forgiveness is the mechanism that brings what was separated back together.
