Free To Celebrate. By 1942 the Gestapo had shut down numerous underground cemeteries, including Finkenwalde. War was in full swing in Europe Bonhoeffer's former students were scattered around the continent. 
However, they were still faithful to their calling to serve the underground Church. In an effort to encourage the leaders, Bonhoeffer wrote a series of letters calling the leaders to embrace joy. 
As suffering and indifference had become prevalent, finding Joy with a challenge for these leaders. 
The rebuilt Temple was a result of God's provision and faithfulness for his people. As a result, the Exiles expressed their joyous worship and gratitude to God. 
These Expressions took the form that had been prescribed to them before. The temple's dedication and the celebratory feast invited exiles to express proper Joy toward God. 
Once again the people could experience the right relationship with God, a true cause for joy and celebration. 
Our Community of Faith may be driven to build new buildings and establish new programs. But our primary challenge when the building is to respond joyfully. 
God's faithfulness to us demands such a response! From that Foundation, we are called to build Ministries as an outpouring of God's faithfulness. Ultimately, these became a sign for the world to see.

The Service of Godly Leaders ~ Ezra 6:13-22

Glorifying God By Inspiring Success Through His Word.

Christian Business Connection

March 20, 2022 Celebrating Victory In this week’s lesson we see God’s hand at work in unfolding His divine plan for mankind. Through the prophets, God had given His prophecy that the children of Israel would go into captivity for seventy years because of their sin (see Jeremiah 25:4-11). In our lesson, we see God having moved on the hearts of pagan rulers as well as His own people to get them out of captivity and back to the Promised Land. Once back home, the Israelites were to rebuild the temple and re-establish the prescribed worship at Jerusalem. Out of the chaos of defeat and captivity, God was restoring worship and great joy to His people. 
I. THE TEMPLE IS FINISHED (Ezra 6:13-15) 
When God wants His plans for His people to move forward, He can cause even our enemies to obey them (Ezra 6:13). 
II. THE TEMPLE IS DEDICATED (Ezra 6:16-18) 
It might take some time, but what God starts He will see it to completion (Ezra 6:14-17). 
God does not do anything haphazardly; everything He does lines up according to His Word (Ezra 6:18) 
III. THE PASSOVER IS OBSERVED (Ezra 6:19-22) 
The captivity of God’s people may hinder the keeping of His laws, but sooner or later they will be free to continue to keep those laws (Ezra 6:19-22; Exodus 12:14) 
There’s not very much joy in simply going through the motions of what we might call worship. If joyful worship is to be restored, it must begin with the restoration of God’s people to a right relationship and fellowship with Him. This involves the confessing and forsaking of our sins. It also means that we have to seek Him in order to know the true worship of owning Him as our Creator and Sustainer. We must seek Him because He is the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, the supreme Judge of all the earth. We must seek Him because He alone is worthy of praise and obedience. We must also leave the joy and blessings up to Him since He knows us and how best to manage our lives.

The Passover Celebrated 
 
On the fourteenth day of the first month the returned exiles kept the passover. For both the priests and the Levites had purified themselves; all of them were clean. So they killed the passover lamb for all the returned exiles, for their fellow priests, and for themselves. It was eaten by the people of Israel who had returned from exile, and also by all who had joined them and separated themselves from the pollutions of the nations of the land to worship the Lord, the God of Israel. With joy they celebrated the festival of unleavened bread seven days; for the Lord had made them joyful, and had turned the heart of the king of Assyria to them, so that he aided them in the work on the house of God, the God of Israel.The king commanded all the people, “Keep the passover to the Lord your God as prescribed in this book of the covenant.” No such passover had been kept since the days of the judges who judged Israel, or during all the days of the kings of Israel or of the kings of Judah; but in the eighteenth year of King Josiah this passover was kept to the Lord in Jerusalem.Moreover Josiah put away the mediums, wizards, teraphim, idols, and all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, so that he established the words of the law that were written in the book that the priest Hilkiah had found in the house of the Lord. Before him there was no king like him, who turned to the Lord with all his heart, with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses; nor did any like him arise after him.Still the Lord did not turn from the fierceness of his great wrath, by which his anger was kindled against Judah, because of all the provocations with which Manasseh had provoked him. The Lord said, “I will remove Judah also out of my sight, as I have removed Israel; and I will reject this city that I have chosen, Jerusalem, and the house of which I said, My name shall be there.”
