In 1960, Lilly Grove Missionary Baptist Church was first organized in a small frame building at 3602 Drew Street in the Third Ward area of Houston under the leadership of Reverend Norris Terry.  Reverend Terry resigned as Pastor after four years of service.

• Reverend Willie E. Powell 1964 to 1981
He was instrumental in moving the church from it's original location.

• Reverend Curtis Wallace 1981 to 1990
Under his leadership a larger place of worship was built adjacent to the existing edifice.  The old building was renovated unto classrooms, a spacious cafeteria and a small Chapel.  Reverend Wallace resigned as Pastor in 1990.

• Reverend Terry K. Anderson 1991 to Present
Lilly Grove called Reverend Terry K. Anderson of Eunice, Louisiana to become the fourth Pastor, on December 18, 1990. Reverend Anderson began his tenure as Pastor on the first Sunday in February 1991.

Psalm 40: 1-10 is a great scripture. It describes how we go from being stuck in a "miry bog" (life) all the way to preaching to the "great congregation". I believe this is about our Journey of Faith and that we need to grow into the unique "call to ministry" that God has for each of us. 
 
Since I recorded this as a message I gave at Lake Cities United Methodist Church I have now converted BACK to The One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church with proper Church Authority in the Roman Catholic Church. 
 
I encourage all to look into the Catholic Church - it has all the Truth you and society needs and all the Graces of God are available to you through the Mass, the Eucharist and all the other Sacraments. It is SO GOOD to be Catholic! Praise God!

With age, came refinement, and Jason continued to hone the craft of songwriting through the years of elementary school and high school. The power ballads of the eighties became a source of inspiration, as groups like Chicago, Jack Wagner, Bonnie Tyler, and Lionel Richie rocked the airwaves.  In college Jason toured with "Celebration," a college singing group and recruitment force. This experience before an audience was crucial in establishing his stage presence and comfort in front of crowds.  
Married in 1995, Jason began taking jobs as a music director, arranging and directing bands for various churches, from Saskatoon, Canada, New Jersey, in the US, Kingston, and Hamilton in Ontario.  Jason has transitioned from performing occasionally in local pubs, restaurants and small bars, to leading worship in an local church.

PSALMS 40 The Passion Translation (TPT) 
A Joyful Salvation - For the Pure and Shining One - A song of poetic praise by King David 
 
Psalm 40 Verse 1a I waited and waited and waited some more, 
 1b patiently, knowing God would come through for me. 
 1c Then, at last, he bent down and listened to my cry. 
 
Verse 2a He stooped down to lift me out of danger 
from the desolate pit I was in, 
 2b out of the muddy mess I had fallen into. 
 2c Now he’s lifted me up into a firm, secure place 
and steadied me while I walk along his ascending path. 
 
Verse 3a A new song for a new day rises up in me 
every time I think about how he breaks through for me! 
Ecstatic praise pours out of my mouth until 
everyone hears how God has set me free. 
 3b Many will see his miracles; 
they’ll stand in awe of God and fall in love with him! 
 
Verse 4a Blessing after blessing comes to those who love and trust the Lord. 
 4b They will not fall away, 
for they refuse to listen to the lies of the proud. 
 
Verse 5a (Butterfly video) O Lord, our God, no one can compare with you.

And you think of us all the time 
with your countless expressions of love - 
far exceeding our expectations! 
 
Verse 6a It’s not sacrifices that really move your heart. 
Burnt offerings, sin offerings—those aren’t what bring you joy. 
 6b But when you open my ears and speak to me, 
 6c I become your willing servant, your prisoner of love for life.

Listen from c4mins 24secs to c9mins to hear the meaning of Psalm 40:6 "My ears you have opened (literally PIERCED)"; tracing back to Exodus 21 (from verse 1 to) verse 6 "He shall ... pierce his ear with an awl. Then he will be his servant for life." 
 
Here the prophecy in Psalm 40:6 refers to the Lord Jesus (who created the worlds), who was willing to become a servant to His Father and a faithful Husband to His wife (the Church). 
It is very moving; the lengths both the Father and the Son were willing to go to endear a rebellious race of humans to Himself. The Lord first made Himself a "Prisoner of Love" to us, that we might be moved by such love to be "Prisoners of Love" to Him - for all eternity. 
Let the heart bow in submissive love. This is the Gospel story.

Psalm 40:1-17

This channel provides sermons recorded specifically for an online audience. Communicating God's Word

As David discusses the issue of sin to a conclusion, he reflects upon the reality that the Lord Himself is the only cure for sin. He knows the Lord is the only one who could take away our sin and save him from sin. As a result, David states five commitments he has made to the Lord to acknowledge that his heart and life belong only to Him. 
 
Commitment #1: I Will Place My Hope in the Lord (vv. 1-3) 
Commitment #2: I Will Place My Trust in the Lord (vv. 4-5) 
Commitment #3: I Will Place My Joy in the Lord (vv. 6-8) 
Commitment #4: I Will Demonstrate My Boldness in the Lord (vv. 9-10) 
Commitment #5: I Will Render My Praise to the Lord (vv. 11-17)
