"The title for this book of selections from Dr. J. R. Miller's writings, "The Transfigured Life," is so apropos to his ministry as pastor, preacher and publisher. I have no doubt that many lives over the past 120 years have been 'transfigured' by the dedication, vision and encouragement received from the sermons, letters and books penned by Miller. His words may bring a smile to one's face or they may bring tears, but they are always a precious source of comfort and inspiration for the child of God. His love of God and his love of people is as evident in his writings as it was in his life. The reader of J. R. Miller will indeed be led to see Christ more deeply and more personally, and receive constant glimpses of the glorious world to come." -- Gene Fedele, author and publisher, Synergy Publishers. "If any 19th century American Christian writer warrants reprinting, it is J.R. Miller His writing style is delightfully smooth, his insights are spiritual diamonds on every page, and his pastoral applications are delivered with the skill of a well-seasoned physician of souls." -Bill Shishko, pastor, Franklin Square, NY "'Secrets of Happy Home Life' (which is one of the chapters in this book) is one of the most helpful and heartwarming books I have read on family relationships. Though written a hundred years ago, its message is timeless and much needed today." - Jerry Bridges, author of numerous books
