Christians are accustomed to viewing their salvation as somewhat of a legal state, in that while they do not always behave righteously, God ascribes righteousness to them on the basis of the blood atonement made by the Lord Jesus Christ.
Yet we know that at some point the imputed righteousness must turn into actual righteousness, or else the holy city will be holy in name only. It will not be an unblemished bride.
The principal goal of the Christian redemption is to change into the image of the Lord Jesus those whom God has predestined and to glorify them together with Christ. Christ then will be the Firstborn of many brothers.
No one can receive anything of eternal Kingdom worth until he receives it twice. All we are and possess must die in Christ. All that dies in Christ that will bring us fullness of joy and is of Kingdom worth will be raised in Christ and restored to us. Then it is our possession forever.
