The Bible is a book about hope – that although there is sin that separates man from God, there is a way, the only way, and that is through Jesus Christ. However, the Scriptures is also a book of warnings.
God has given warnings since the time of Adam to keep mankind away from choosing the wrong things. Unfortunately, even with all these warnings, man still chooses to do what’s wrong and despise what’s right.
If we read through the history of the Israelites, God gave them warnings so that they would return to Him and worship Him. However, the Jews were stubborn, and so God allowed them to be destroyed and dispersed outside their Promised Land for hundreds of years.
This only shows that the warnings prove God’s mercy and grace, but if people do not return to God, He would carry out His justice and punish evildoers.
