Originally, God intended man to facilitate and have dominion over all His creation. Unfortunately, Adam and Eve sinned, and so they were banished from the Garden of Eden. One of the punishments given to Adam is that it would be difficult for him to work and bring food to the table. As Christians, working is both a privilege and a responsibility.

First, it is a privilege because not everyone is given the chance to have a job, no matter how big or small it may be. As long as one is earning an honest wage for his work, it is considered honorable. Second, it is a responsibility because employees and workers should do their best in the workplace.

According to the Apostle Paul, those who have earthly masters (bosses) should render their services unto the Lord, and not unto men. Our motivation for work is not just to earn, but to glorify God.
