I’ve made a commitment to grow my agency to $1M. This is the first weekly episode of “The VLOG,” where I document the entire journey: failures, successes and all the lessons along the way for you to see.

As I document my journey on social media, it has only increased the accountability and has given me an even greater purpose in life- to provide value to others.

Going from unemployment and being ask to leave my job in December 2014 to what will be over $120k a year by December 2018 will be a daunting transformation, both personally and professionally. This weeks Bible study titled " The Transformation from Enemy to Apostle " from the Book of Acts 9:1-19. 
 
We finally reached Acts Chapter 9 - The conversion of Saul. 
 
Acts 9 1 - 19 ; we are going to see the transformation from enemy to apostle. 
 
It might seem sometimes like the ones controlling the mission of the gospel of Jesus Christ are enemies of the gospel. 
 
It might seem that way. 
 
Acts Chapter 8:1 we read their was a great persecution led by Saul against the church at Jerusalem. 
 
See it was enemies who scattered the Disciples, that’s what it looks like. 
 
So sometimes it seems like the one who is in control of the gospel mission might be an enemy of the gospel. 
 
Other times it may look like believers are in control of the gospel mission 
 
On Paul’s second missionary journey - In Acts 15:36 we read Paul plan to report back to the ones he's cared for to see how they are doing. 
 
That’s seems as you read it like that’s Paul’s idea and Paul might be in control of gospel mission. 
 
So maybe missionary from our what we think; sometimes it looks like they might be in control of the gospel mission. 
 
Church leaders, elders, mission agency, para -church ministries and what not. 
 
But if there is one thing, one main big vertical idea that came through loud and clear to us from Acts chapter 8 it is that none of that is true. 
 
Enemies of the gospel are not in control of where the gospel goes and doesn’t go. 
and even believers faithful witness of Jesus Christ are not in control of where the gospel goes and where it does not go. 
 
Acts 8 made it abundantly clear that it is God and God alone who is in control of the gospel mission. 
 
What enemies of the gospel do that's subject to God’s sovereignty. 
 
and what faithful witness of Jesus Christ dream up in their minds and plan to go do is also subject to God. 
 
as the Holy Spirit and the Lord Jesus Christ expanded the mission of the gospel outside the city of Jerusalem into Judea and Samaria even the most specific of details we found last time we were together in Acts 8 were overseen by the Spirit of God. 
 
He has ownership of the mission, He has authority over the gospel mission. 
 
You see it’s the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit and it’s God the Father who stand and tower high above the gospel mission casting their Divine, Sovereign, Providential shadow over the land of which the gospel will run 
 
That is clear; that is what stands out after finishing Acts chapter 8. 
 
It’s not faithful Disciples that stand up and impress us at the end of Acts 8 and it not the enemies of the gospel who stand up and intimate us at the end of Acts 8. 
 
So when you read Acts chapter 9 verses 1 and 2 knowing it’s the Greatness of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit over the mission..you could be thinking to yourself, who is this fool? 
 
(Read verses 1,2) 
 
Who is this fool that would butt heads with the Holy Spirit? 
 
We ask Saul.. 
 
Saul do you even know who you are fighting against? 
 
Saul has been doing nothing since chapter 8 verse but provoking the Lord Jesus, provoking the Holy Spirit, and provoking God the Father by persecuting the Disciples of the Lord 
 
But all that is about to change. All of it. 
 
Read verse 3 - 19. 
 
What is this passage all about? 
 
Saul Transformation from enemy to Apostle is displayed through 7 scenes. 
 
Let me just take the story and i’ll cut it down into 7 scenes for you, and each scene has a unique contribution to make to the transformation of Saul. 
 
1. The enemies provocation; 9:1-2 
2. The Lords’ Confrontation; 9:3-7. 
3. The enemies’ Humiliation; 9:8-9. 
4. The Lords’ Exhortation; 9:10-12. 
5. A Disciples Hesitation; 9:13-14.

This week Bible Study titled " Leaving Gospel Fruit For More Gospel Fruit" from The Book of Acts 8:26-40 
 
We are going to continuing on this week in the story God has put in scripture for us. That He had inspired; locked forever in His Word, reveling for us the mission of the gospel of Jesus christ from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth. 
 
And where we have just left off is Samaria. 
 
The gospel mission in Samaria was as fruitful as could of been imagined and probably beyond imagination. 
 
In chapter 8 verse 12 were told: (read) 
 
Down in verse 25 Peter and John after they had spent some time with the Samaritans. 
 
So they meander their way back to Jerusalem preaching the gospel everywhere they went. Samaria had been prepared uniquely by God to be a ripe mission field. 
 
So as the apostle Peter and John make there way back to Jerusalem you might expect that what we would read next in Acts chapter 8 would be Philip would continue his work among the Samaritans. 
 
After all this is a new growing church and they need to be established in the gospel. 
 
What a time to capitalize on, what a time to strengthen and what a opportunity to continue to build upon. 
 
BUT the gospel mission doesn't run on human engineunlty, it doesn't on human logic or even human stratigery 
 
What Luke is carefully to reveal to us next is what the Holy Spirit is up to on the gospel mission. 
 
if you remember in Acts chapter 1 verse 8; that this is the kind of verse that set the paradigm for how the whole book of acts unfolds. 
 
The Apostles were to wait until the Holy Spirit came and when He came they would have the Spirits power. 
 
Once the Holy Spirit had come and filled the Apostles the mission of the gospel would take place in Jerusalem and make it way outside of Jerusalem into Judea and Samaria and that's where we've been in chapter 8. and It's eventually going beyond that to remotest parts of the earth. 
 
So the Holy Spirit is the One. 
 
The Apostles understood the Holy Spirit was the One. 
 
The One Setting the agenda for the gospel mission. 
 
They understood the Holy Spirit was primary and their were secondary. 
 
They understood that the Holy Spirit was central to their participation in the gospel. 
 
They're not participating and God comes along and gives them a boost of the Spirit; No, the Holy Spirit is the One who has come and He is the one that will lead forth the mission of the gospel and the only way that's going to happen is He comes and fills witnesses of Jesus Christ 
 
What we get to discover today in Act chapter 8 is just how much the Holy Spirit is in control of the gospel mission even down to the most specific of details. 
 
So Philip can't stay in Samaria, no matter how counter intrusive it's seems to us for him to leave. 
 
No matter how much gospel fruit there is still to be harvested in Samaria 
 
Philip needs to go. Why? Because the Holy Spirit has a Divine appoint for him. 
 
He has set up a Divine appoint between Philip and a gentile. 
 
This provides for us the revelation that the Holy Spirit is in control of mission and it also gives us a preview of what is coming in the pages to follow in Acts; that the gospel is going to go even go beyond Samaritans to a gentile. 
 
This passage I hope today is going to only increase your confidence that God knows what he is doing with gospel mission. 
 
The Holy Spirit is indeed still even today the primary reason the gospel is still expanding today still. 
 
It's not because really faithful diligent people get it and want to go; that's part of it BUT that's secondary. 
 
God is in control of the gospel mission as much today as he was even than 
 
it should lead you to trust God in your part that you play in the gospel mission. 
 
God is trustworthy; The Spirit of God is trustworthy. 
 
and the other thing that I would hope it would produce in me and you; this is so much still like the starting line of the gospel mission we are in the early pages of Acts and we are see how the Spirit is in setting the course. 
 
Wouldn't it be great if in our lifetime we saw the Spirit of God bring us across the finish line. 
 
Have you ever thought of that? 
 
That in our life the gospel mission would come across the finish line. 
 
These man and these woman in early pages got to hear the gun shot and they took off running 
 
What if we got to cross the tape. the Spirit of God is at work 
 
it going to come to a end some day this is not endless hamster wheel. 
 
This is a course that set our by Him. you see it in the beginning and he is just as active in the end. How close are we?

Jesus told his disciples, that as His Holy Spirit empowered witnesses they would eventually leave Jersurelsem as his witnesses and they would go outside the region into Judea and Samaria. 
 
To testify of His resurrection and gospelize to those people living their; the persecution that was associated with the death of Stephen and with the viscousness of Saul has indeed did just that. 
 
The early church were scattered into Judea and Samaria expect the Apostles. (8:1) 
 
Then we saw that Philiip who went down to the Samaria and gosplizied to the people living there. He preach the gospel to the Samaritans (8:5) 
 
and now Luke has for us an incredible account of the victory of the gospel as it made it's landfall in Samaria. 
 
This passage is like waiting step by step out into the deep water and on one of your steps your not going to find any bottom and just go under.

if I can give you some application before we get started: 
 
It should inspire you to worship God who has power to change people in the gospel. 
 
and it should be of great encouragement to you to be more and more like Philip and the apostles Peter and John who come preaching the gospel to everyone they can. 
 
You and I must peach the gospel; we must testify to resurrection of Jesus Christ 
 
But this passage is also so rich with theological and practical ministry gems but we don't have enough time today to cover that; 
 
So today we are going to just let Luke tell the story; we'll just walk through the account scene by scene and we'll do some application but the primary application today is: 
 
Worship God who has power to change people in the gospel. and to be more faithful with the gospel where you live.

What's is this passage all about? 
 
The central theme of our study is; The unstoppable nature of the gospel is magnified by Jesus in his claim of a victorious landfall in Samaria (Acts 1:8) 
 
That's what's going on here; we are see the unstoppable nature of the gospel on full display. As it hit an expand through the land and city of Sameria.

How do we mark turning points? 
 
The critical hours that leads us from one phase to a new phase in life. 
 
What marked the sending out the Gospel beyond Jerusalem? it was NOT a celebration... It was a stoning, the death of a Godly man. 
 
The Church was and Is today marked by Praise & PERSECUTION. 
 
Why does it happen like that? Here's Why... because that's what the Gospels is all about, therefore it what Stephen was all about, therefore it's what were all about! 
 
It's what all this world loves and is hanging on and fighting for (rule/authority)... What the devil is fighting for (rule over our souls), therefore if the Gospel is to go beyond Jerusalem into Judea and Samaria, blood had to be shed. 
 
What's the reason for this? To get you to question what's your all about.. To get you to ask: Is this the Gospel I'm going to preach in my life? 
 
This passage is healthy for us to see the reality of the Gospel in our life. to reminds us what the gospel truly means and says to a rebellious world. 
 
To reevaluate if we are living NOW in preparation of everything turning on a dime... concerning the opinion of public towards the gospel and the church. 
 
As if the crowd on one day of the week was shouting "Hosanna to the Son of David" and just a few days later was shouting "crucify him, crucify him!" We have no other King but Cesar. 
 
What are we expecting today? What are we getting ready for? it's totally possible for us for everything to change on a dime and for them to hate us for the truth we proclaim. 
 
Live today like your ready, lf God's protection was pulled away all at once in this hour here in our great country. 
 
Do you know what that makes me think of as a Dad... In our homes, churches, and communities, we need to parent our children to be instruments for God NOW. 
 
Parenting to teach them that one day they may have to face a world against what they believe. 
 
Parenting our young generation to face life without us. that they would know how to live courageous lives. . 
 
The sending off of gospel beyond Jerusalem was marked 3 extremes: 
 - The spot light is put on Saul -. 
 
1. The hearty agreement of Saul with the Sanhedrin. 
 
Saul "Identity with" the Sanhedrin in putting stephen to death, he agreed to cooperate in partnering to reach to solution of suppressing The Gospel and Name of Jesus. 
 
2. The distinct turnaround of opinion toward to the church. 
 
And on that day there was a great persecution began against the church. 
 
3.The burial of Stephen was an act of courage/protest. 
 
The emotions and courage of the Godly men that buried Stephen proves their loyalty to God and the Gospel

Stephen delivers a beautiful & powerful message regarding Israels history recalling Old Testament Scripture to prove that his oppressors accusations are flawed. 
 
The central theme of Stephens message: 
 
The religious leadership in Jerusalem in Stephen day considered or deemed the The Temple as the permanent Holy place of worship. 
. 
* Moses was not the concluding word from God. (John 1:15-17). 
 
* The Jewish Temple did not confine God.(Isa. 66:1-2) 
 
* Stephens accusers were justly chargeable of killing God Righteous Servant, Jesus 
Christ. (Acts 7:51-53). 
 
 
1.The Central Idea of the Text is that Stephen gives a defense of his Christian ministry by showing from the OT Scriptures that Moses' Law was not the final revelation from God, that the presence of God was not confined to the Jewish temple, and that Israel's leadership was guilty of rejecting and killing God's righteous Servant, Jesus Christ. 
 
2.Stephen revealed that Israel had a long history of rejecting and persecuting God's chosen leaders, citing Joseph, Moses and finally, Jesus. 
 
3.Stephens's message is a selective overview of Israel's history (recalled from memory), starting with Abraham and moving down to Jesus Christ, observing God's sovereign hand working in every detail to accomplish His will. 
 
4. Many in the church today have the false notion that God is found in the building where they gather, as though the place itself is holy and warrants a proper dress or behavior. The Scripture teaches that the Christian's body is the temple of the Lord (1 Cor. 3:16; 2 Cor. 6:16). Christian fellowship and worship is not confined to a place, and the believer is free to worship God as much in a beautiful cathedral as by a mountain stream. Buildings are important to the function of a local church, as facilities facilitate ministry and are the place where activities often occur; however, as necessary as buildings and activities are, the maturing believer is primarily concerned with advancing spiritually through the study and application of God's word and through sacrificial service to others.

BIBLE STUDY: "Protecting God's Man For A Critical Hour" Acts 7:1-60

This week bible study title "Setting Priorities is pleasing to the Lord" from The book of Acts 6:1-7 (stream video below) 
 
The early church is rapidly growing and the disciples are multiplying. The widows within the congregation are feeling neglected in the daily distribution of bread. We see a problem of discrimination arise in the church between two different cultures. 
 
The apostles set their priorities on to their calling of daily prayer and to the ministries of the word of God first and second delegated the position of serving the widows to men filled with the Spirit. The word of God spread and the disciples continued to increase rapidly, 
 
What a great practical model for us to keep our priority of staying daily in prayer and to the ministries of the word of God. Be hearers and doers of the word. When we live it out the word we become good fruit and know God better and better. 
 
Practical Application: 
 
1. Setting priorities is pleasing to the Lord(Luke 10:38-42) 
 
2. Be Hearers and Doers of the Word(James 1:22) 
 
3. Living the Word is fruitful(Colossians 1:10)
