I grew up as a Baptist but became reformed in soteriology Sept. 2010 after testing its theology with Scripture and praying about it with an open-mind. I was baptized in 2014 at Cubao Reformed Baptist Church but later became a "Reformed Presbyterian" in 2017.

The Trinity is the foundation of the Christian faith. There is no gospel or salvation without the Triune God of Scripture. It was the Father who graciously chose who will be saved, the Son who died in their place for their sins, and the Holy Spirit who draws them to persevering repentance and faith. Ungodly men are justified by faith alone (Romans 4:1-9) resulting always in good works (Ephesians 2:10).

Trinity Apologetics

What did Paul mean when he said, "not under the law, but under grace"? We're free from obligation to the Law of God? We have a license to sin and disobey? Of course not. 
 
“For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.” – Rom. 6:14 
 
Likely Paul had many glorious applications including the following: 
 
* Not under the Law as a covenant of life but under the covenant of grace 
* Not under the condemnation and curse of the Law but saved and forgiven by grace 
* Not under the weakness of the Law but under the strength of grace 
* Not under the Law as a means of righteousness before God, but under grace for righteousness 
 
Romans 6:14 describes Christians saved by grace in the context of sanctification and NOT non-Christians who are under the law and depending on works for salvation. Religious people of the world are under the Law's curse and condemnation; unable to please God or earn heaven through the Law of righteousness. The Law brings death. Grace brings life. The Destruction of the Wicked | A Reformed sermon (Psalm 73:18)

"Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; and shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments." -- Exodus 20:4-6 
 
"Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you." -- Deuteronomy 4:2

The 2nd commandment also forbids worshiping the true God in a false way. Worship must only be what the Word prescribes. Images lead to us giving esteem to what is visible instead of the invisible God. 
 
1.) It requires right worship 
* God requires worship from the heart but also a right way of external / physical worship. For example, bowing / standing for prayer may illustrate reverence and respect to God. Worship must not cater to ourselves and our desires. Don't worship the way the heathen and surrounding nations worship their gods (Deut 12:30). Do not add or minus what God has prescribed. Don't worship according to your own devices / heart as King Jeroboam did in 1 Kings 12:26-33. ONLY what God has commanded is accepted by Him. God gets to decide what acceptable worship is, not sinful man. In Deut 4:15 we see that God is invisible, therefore worship is spiritual. We don't know what God looks like but we believe that He is (Hebrews 11:6), not "see" that He is. Examples of biblical parts of worship: praying, preaching of the Word, hearing of the Word, singing, reading of Scripture, solemn vows and even fasting. The church in its worldliness and own desires add many things to worship: not necessarily minusing these elements, but adding. This was the problem of the Corinthian church. They didn't minus the Lord's Supper but added horrible abuses to it (1Cor 11:17-34). Zeal, seriousness and reverence are also required in proper worship. We can only worship through our mediator: Christ. Do we hate every false way of worship? Are we zealous and jealous for the Lord's honor? 
 
2.) What is not appointed from God's own Word is forbidden 
* Some so-called Christians when using images to "help" worship, say they're worshiping not the image but God through the image. Roman Catholic theologians tried to distinguish the types of reverence to God, to Mary and to images but the common people could never understand the distinction: they would always end up giving the highest worship to the images or the same worship of God. Some first leaders of the Roman Catholic Church even tried to prevent images / limit their reverence. But it never worked. A little idolatry leads to more idolatry. It cannot be policed or maintained. Images are not forbidden, full stop, but are forbidden in worship. Forgoing certain worship commandments of Scripture are also violations of the 2nd commandment including breaking the Sabbath, neglecting family worship, baptism and the Lord's Supper. "Will-worship" is worshiping according to self or desire. Uninspired man-made hymns, adding musical instruments, requiring holy days like Christ-Mass and Easter, are not commanded in Scripture and therefore are 2CV. We must depend on the Spirit to keep the 2nd commandment. 
 
3.) For the LORD thy God is a jealous God. God's sovereignty, proprietary and zeal 
* Proprietary: He is THY God. You are His own people. Zeal: God has holy jealousy regarding His worship like a husband being jealous over an unfaithful wife. God visits iniquity upon the children even unto the third and fourth generation. Your sin can lead to the sin of your children (consider Luke 17:1-2). For your love of your children, keep the 2nd commandment. Children would follow the example of their parents. It would be their own sin but resulting and influenced by the disobedience of a father and mother. We must keep covenant faithfulness (Psalm 78:10, 25:10). Is it dear to your heart how God is worshiped? In truth? Are you zealous? Consider the warnings in Scripture of false worship: King Jeroboam (1Kings 12:26-33), Nadab and Abihu (Lev 10:1-4), unfaithful Israel (Psalm 78:17), the Corinthians' abuse of the Supper (1Cor 11:29-30) and more.

* The scum of society kept on drawing near to Him. It was grace and love that drew them. God was in the heart of Christ and heaven was in the voice of Christ. Because He has the same nature as sinners, He can sympathize with them. Truly human. The Savior is a Man with compassion: no need to be terrified of Him as God. He satisfies the weary soul. He spoke vividly of hellfire because we need the warning; we need to be awakened. "fury is not in me" (Isaiah 27:4). 
 
2.) The Reception. "receives sinners" 
* Christ doesn't receive the godly or churchgoers but sinners. He even received publicans. These tax collectors were considered traitors to Israel: collecting money for Rome. They're grouped together with harlots by Christ. He received and welcomed the worst of all sinners who repent. The father of the prodigal son didn't need to sit him down and get him to confess all the details of his evil. He ran to him and restored him with full grace. A sinner must give a hearty approval and consent to Christ and expect complete forgiveness. 
 
3.) The Communion "and eats with them". His fellowship with sinners 
* Sinners came to Him and He received them: not Him coming to sinners at bars etc.; hanging out with them in their sinful activities and places. No. He received repentant sinners who sought after Him (v.1). Christ is more willing to receive you than you are to receive Him. Don't wait until you're sinking in hell and the voice of grace turns into a voice of fury. Don't wait until all hope is lost and the final judgment arrives. There is always hope while you live on this earth of mercy. No sinner is beyond saving. No sin is too great for the Savior. Come to the Fountain with all your filth. Come to the Doctor with all your spiritual disease. He is ready and willing to receive you: only come.

Meaning of "born of water"? (John 3:5)

God alone is the Lord of the Sabbath since He created all things and instituted it to exist. God gets to decide its true intention and interpret its proper application in our lives. The Pharisees in Christ's time corrupted the Sabbath by adding their own human traditions; making it burdensome instead of a blessing. It's in this context that Jesus proclaims Himself the Lord even of the Sabbath; an exclusive title of absolute Deity. Only the Creator of the Sabbath is Lord of the Sabbath. No mere prophet of God can call themselves this. Christ has mastery and sovereignty even over YHWH's holy day. 
 
The Sabbath was also given before Moses at creation. Therefore the Lord of the Sabbath is the Lord of creation.

Jesus Claiming To Be God in Mark 2:28

When Paul describes some of the Galatians as having "fallen from grace" what did he really mean? Can a genuine, redeemed Christian fall from grace? What about Once Saved Always Saved? Does this mean someone can still inherit heaven while living an unrepentant life of sin or even leave the faith? 
 
No. OSAS goes hand in hand with perseverance until the end. The Bible is abundantly clear that keeping the faith is necessary (e.g. Hebrews 3:12-19, 1 Corinthians 10:13, 1 John 2:19, 3:9, 2 Timothy 4:18). 
 
It's interesting that Saint Augustine and Martin Luther, men greatly respected by Protestants and the Reformed, believed that a regenerated person could fall finally and totally and lose their regeneration. They also believed, however, that this is impossible for God's elect whom would always be safe and preserved.

An Unseen "Jesus is God" Bible verse (Ephesians 2:17)

Is Jesus separated from the "one God" as a mere "man" or is there much more to this verse than the surface level proof-texting offered by the INC? Does their interpretation go in harmony with the rest of what Paul believed about Jesus? What about all of Scripture? 
 
As I mentioned at the end of this video, I would like INC members to explain to me the gospel of salvation. Also what does Christ as "mediator" really mean when it comes to our salvation and reconciliation to God? Why do INC ministers preach almost nothing about Christ crucified for the atonement of our sins? Nothing about justification by faith (Romans 3:28)? Paul said, "For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified" (1Cor. 2:2) but INC do not preach this but salvation through church membership. 
 
Philippians 3:9: "and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith," (NASB) 
 
Why does the so-called "Church of Christ" teach the opposite; that righteousness comes from ourselves on the basis of good works?

Is Jesus separated from the "one God" as a mere "man" or is there much more to this verse than the surface level proof-texting offered by the INC? Does their interpretation go in harmony with the rest of what Paul believed about Jesus? What about all of Scripture?

As I mentioned at the end of this video, I would like INC members to explain to me the gospel of salvation. Also what does Christ as "mediator" really mean when it comes to our salvation and reconciliation to God? Why do INC ministers preach almost nothing about Christ crucified for the atonement of our sins?  Nothing about justification by faith (Romans 3:28)? Paul said, "For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified" (1Cor. 2:2) but INC do not preach this but salvation through church membership.

When Jesus mentions "My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God" does this mean He is not God but only a creation submitting to God? As we do on this channel, we like to interpret a verse in light of the entire chapter and book that it's found in, while also solving the particulars. There is no problem at all for the Trinity here. If YHWH chose to condescend to our level, becoming incarnate in a permanent human tabernacle, that human being wouldn't be an unbeliever and rejecter of God. He would know God, worship God and in that humbled state, serve and obey God. Jesus had to fulfill all righteousness as the humble servant and anointed One of God. If He didn't have a God, He would be a sinner and couldn't be our Savior or even our example. 
 
Jesus was a real and complete human being and in that humanity He had a God over Him. Nothing difficult here. We know from Philippians 2:5-8, 2 Corinthians 8:9 and other places that Jesus humbled Himself by becoming a servant and "being made in the likeness of men". How could He humble Himself if He was always a mere man?

Does John 20:17 Refute The Trinity? | "My God and your God"

The verse distinguishes "the creation of God" from the "beginning" (archē) of it. The verse never states that Jesus is within the same category of "the creation of God" but is the archē of it. It never states Jesus was created "by" God or is a creation of God. That would be changing the words of John which the Jehovah's Witness Bible attempts to do by adding the word "by". The interpretation that Jesus is the "first created" by God is exaggerated and suspicious at best and diminishes the Person of Christ. The title is meant to EXALT and GLORIFY Christ as authoritative over the Church. The term archē is translated many times in the NT as ruler, domain, principality etc. (e.g. see Jude 1:6, Luke 20:20, Eph 3:10). BDAG's Greek lexicon even defines it as "the first cause" in Revelation 3:14 and the NET Bible goes with this by translating it "originator". This honors Christ as supreme but the other interpretation dishonors and shrinks Him into a creature. There is an infinite chasm between the Creator and created. If Jesus is a created being, He is limited and therefore infinitely inferior to God. What comparison can even be made between a limited being and the Infinite One? God would be infinitely greater than Christ even if Christ was the most powerful, most glorious first creation of God. The Bible verses that say Jesus is the image of the invisible God, His "exact representation", to see Him is to see the Father etc. would therefore become meaningless under this false Christology. 
 
The same John who wrote Revelation 3:14 also wrote that Jesus is "the Word [who] was God" and Creator (John 1:1-3) with zero point of origin compared to "all things" (v.3), John the Baptist (v.6), the children of God (v.12), the world (v.10), the flesh the Word became (v.14) and even "grace and truth" (v.17). He used the term "ginomai" (became, made) for all these things but was careful to NEVER use it for the Word and Light who came into the world and created the world (John 1:10). The JW and Arian interpretation of Revelation 3:14 would have John's high Christology contradict itself. John doesn't fight with John. The same Revelation identifies Jesus as God Almighty worshiped by every created thing (Rev 3:19, Pro 3:21, Rev 5:12-14, 22:8-9, 1:8, 17-18, 22:13) therefore placing Him outside the category of "created thing" (see John 1:3).

The Truth about God the Mother in Galatians 4:26

John quoted from Isaiah 6 where Isaiah saw the glory of Yahweh and then proceeds to say he actually saw the glory of Christ (John 12:41). He was well familiar with what Isaiah 6:1-3 said about Isaiah seeing Adonai on the throne in glory and yet deliberately and consciously used the very same Greek terms from the Greek Septuagint "saw" (eiden) and "His glory" (tēn doxan autou, lit. "the glory of Him") from Isaiah 6:1 (all the same roots, including definite article). Clearly John wanted his readers' minds to go to Isaiah 6 in order to reveal the truth about the identity of the Messiah.

Compelling Evidence That Jesus is Jehovah (Isaiah 6:1)

Acts 2:36 is a common verse anti-Trinitarians enjoy appealing to, but as usual, they read it in a vacuum and fail to recognize the point of it within the context. He's made manifest as Lord and Christ by God because of His resurrection, exaltation and ascension to heaven. Hence the "Therefore" in the verse; pointing back to the descriptions of Christ's coronation as King in vv.32-35.

1. The passage says Jesus was involved in the creation of "the worlds" with God and therefore He is coeternal 
2. The passage says God has spoken to us "in these last days" by His Son and this is the final and only way God speaks now. Before it was in "various ways" in the OT prophets but now it is only one way. And God's word and revelation in Christ is final and sufficient and therefore we don't need more preachers or prophets to follow after. There are no binding revelations, books or men that Christians are required to believe other than the 66 books of the Bible. The canon was closed many centuries before Felix Manalo came along. Christ and His apostles speak authoritatively to the Church through the inspired Scriptures. We don't need to listen to "prophet" Manalo at all. He's not infallible and not authoritative to the people of God. We don't have to belong to his church to be saved!

2 Ways Hebrews 1:1-2 Debunks Iglesia Ni Cristo

Iglesia ni Cristo uses this verse to support their idea that Manalo is a prophet called by God from the east in the Philippines to fulfill His purpose. But is this really the intention of the context? Why would Felix Manalo be called a "bird of prey" anyway? And can we prove from Isaiah that the bird of prey is actually Cyrus the Great from Persia? 
 
First off, the Philippines is actually more southeast than east of Israel whereas Persia and its capital is directly east. Cyrus was often represented as an eagle, a bird of prey, and Isaiah 45:1 mentions him by name and Isaiah 41:2 uses similar terms connecting the three verses together as referring to King Cyrus. Felix Manalo has nothing to do with Isaiah's prophecy, the nation of Israel, Israel's enemies etc. and is not the one who subdues kings and nations (Isaiah 41:2). 
 
Felix Manalo came 2600 years after the the time of Isaiah and has zero relevance to what Isaiah 46:11 is all about. The World Mission Society Church of God ALSO use this verse in attempt to prove their "Christ" Ahnsahnghong messiah from Korea is in the Bible. The verse has nothing to do with Korea and nothing to do with the Philippines. 
 
Therefore it's ironic that INC boldly claims EVERYTHING they teach is directly from the Bible and yet we can't find anything anywhere in the Bible about Felix Manalo their so-called prophet.

Does Isaiah 46:11 prove Felix Manalo is a prophet? | bird of prey from east

Do we find O.T. evidence for the Trinity in Isaiah 48:16? Is the verse in fact talking about the Father, Son and Holy Spirit (cf. Mt. 28:19, John 14:16, 26, 15:26, Eph. 4:4-6)? 
 
We know from verses in Isaiah like Isa. 11:2 & 61:1 that the Spirit of the LORD is the Holy Spirit. But can we prove the speaker of Isaiah 48:16 is in fact God Himself (not the prophet) and therefore we find an interaction within the Godhead of personal distinction? Was Jehovah sent by the Lord GOD and/or His Spirit? 
 
The evidence that Isaiah 48:16 is God speaking is found contextually and in Isaiah 45:18-19 where God says the same key phrase. Is there ANY evidence that the prophet Isaiah was speaking instead? I don't find any. 
 
The Lord being sent shouldn't surprise us in light of Genesis 19:24, the divine Angel of the LORD and the many passages which speak of the Son being sent from heaven by the Father. 
 
If God is the speaker of Isaiah 48:16, which I think it clearly is, how can this verse be reconciled at all to every form of unitarianism? And why would God inspire His Word to include such an amazing verse like this?
