In this third study through the book of Deuteronomy, Pastor Kevin continues with Moses’ reminder to the Jews of what their history has been as they wandered in the Wilderness for forty years. 
 
These two chapters deal with the events that transpired as God tells the Jewish people it is time for them to head north in preparation for crossing the Jordan river to conquer the nations of the Canaanites. 
 
In their journey north, they pass through area controlled by the Edomites (descendants of Esau), and the Moabites/Ammonites (descendants of Lot’s two daughters). Kevin covers the history of these people groups and how they relate to us today. 
 
The Jews are then told by God to defeat the Amorites (tribe of the Canaanites) that have migrated to the east side of the Jordan. The defeat of the Amorites will instill terror in the surrounding nations who are themselves about to be defeated. This order from God is to rid the land of these immoral idolaters who have been deceived by Satan to practice human sacrifice, and sexual immorality that would have resulted in the STDs that have plagued immoral people with diseases throughout history. 
 
The study is concluded with a communion message that covers 1 Corinthians 10 where Paul alludes to this same time in Jewish history, warning that they were an example to us to not to go after idols. This study picks up where we left off last week in a very important and controversial section of prophetic scripture. 2 Thessalonians Chapter 2 provides some insights not found elsewhere. But the wordings of those insights have left bible interpreters coming away with vastly differing views. 
 
What does Paul mean by the “Day of Christ”, “That Day” “The falling away”, “He who now restrains”? Pastor Kevin, using scripture to interpret scripture, and building on last week’s study, gives a pre-tribulational rapture, dispensational answer to these questions while at times giving alternate views. He also provides the popular rebuttals from the post-tribulation-rapture point of view, and shows why their interpretations are not even honest to the text. 
 
Due to lack of time, chapter three was not covered but the text is included in the posting at the web site. Kevin merely summarizes chapter three with the exhortation that Paul rebuked those who were being lazy and living off of other’s labor, calling them unruly.

In this study, Pastor Kevin picks up on the theme of God’s hatred for divorce between a Jewish husband and wife. In applying this teaching to today, God also hates it when those who profess to be Christians divorce each other. Why, because of the violence it creates and how the children are physically and spiritually affected. 
 
Kevin then covers the New Testament parallel passage in 1 Cor 7 dealing with marriage/divorce when one spouse is a Christian and the other is not. Here again, the believer is encouraged to stay in the marriage relationship for the sake of being a witness to the unbelieving spouse and to be able to minister the truth of the gospel to the children.

After a one week delay due to snow, Pastor Kevin reviews the mission of the three angels of Revelation 14. These angels are used by God to preach the gospel during the last 3.5 years of the Tribulation. 
 
This section of scripture makes it clear that all those who fear God and refuse to take the Mark of the Beast will be killed by the Antichrist. God says, “Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on” (Rev 14:13). Why are they blessed? 
 
The rest of Chapter 14 depicts Jesus with a sickle ready to harvest the grapes of wrath on the earth. God has been patient and merciful for thousands of years, but now it is time to judge the wicked as Jesus prepares to physically return and set up His kingdom. 
 
The first four verses of chapter fifteen introduce the angels who will be dispensing the seven bowls of God’s wrath. Next week’s study will cover these final plagues that come upon those who have rejected God as creator and instead have worshiped a man who is possessed by Satan himself.

Revelation 14:13-15:4, Feb 21,2021; Blessed are Those Who Die in the Lord from Now On

In this study, because of questions that came up after last week’s study, Pastor Kevin clarifies why he thinks that the hundred and forty four thousand are early church Jewish saints that are resurrected at the rapture and then sent back to earth for this mission during the tribulation. 
 
Then the study covers the first five trumpet judgments: 
 
1ST Hail and fire followed, mingled with blood, and they were thrown to the earth. And a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up. 
 
2ND And something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood. And a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed 
 
3RD A great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the water, because it was made bitter. 
 
4TH A third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened. A third of the day did not shine, and likewise the night. 
 
5TH Then the fifth angel sounded: And I saw a star [angel] fallen from heaven to the earth. To him was given the key to the bottomless pit. And he opened the bottomless pit. 
 
Kevin explains how we know these judgments take more than a year and how it appears that the second and third trumpets are prophesying asteroid/comet collisions with earth, where one lands in the sea and another on land. Kevin also speculates what the bitter water might be talking about. 
 
For the fifth seal, the scriptures are clear that the locusts/scorpions unleashed on the earth are not attack helicopters as Hal Lindsey famously conjectured in the 70s in his book Late Great Planet Earth, but rather demonic beings let loose from the holding place of demon spirits. Kevin gives parallel verses where the same Greek word for bottomless pit is used to describe this holding place of demon spirits.

Revelation 8:1- 9 12 Nov 22, 2020, The Wrath of God in the Trumpet Judgments

Nahum 1:1- 3:19 Nov 8, 2020 God deals with a Gentile Nation

In this study, Pastor Kevin introduces his timeline of tribulation, which starts at the fall of man and goes to the second coming of Jesus. He also gives the timeline of how God has provided a witness through the ages. These timelines cover information from previous studies and will be useful for the rest of Revelation. 
 
Kevin then reviews the 6TH seal as it relates to global earthquakes and meteorite showers at the end of the tribulation. Kevin touches on the biblical and scientific evidence in support of Dr. Walt Brown’s hydroplate theory explanation for the flood of Noah. Dr. Brown’s theory explains how a global earthquake could occur and the origin of Asteroids, Comets and Trans-Neptunian objects.

Kevin then gets into chapter 7 where the 144,000 are introduced. In the next study in Revelation, Kevin will pick up where he left off and explain more of what scripture teaches about these men who are sealed/protected from the judgments that are about to be unleashed on the earth when the 7th seal is opened and the seven trumpet judgments start.

In this study, Pastor Kevin introduces his timeline of tribulation, which starts at the fall of man and goes to the second coming of Jesus.  He also gives the timeline of how God has provided a witness through the ages.  These timelines cover information from previous studies and will be useful for the rest of Revelation.

Kevin then reviews the 6TH seal as it relates to global earthquakes and meteorite showers at the end of the tribulation.  Kevin touches on the biblical and scientific evidence in support of Dr. Walt Brown’s hydroplate theory explanation for the flood of Noah.  Dr. Brown’s theory explains how a global earthquake could occur and the origin of Asteroids, Comets and Trans-Neptunian objects.

In this study, Pastor Kevin again spends the entire study dealing with Revelation 4:1 as a type of the Rapture. 
 
The doctrine of the rapture states that at some time in the future believers who are alive on earth will be instantly changed into a new body and be “caught up” (raptured) to be with Jesus, without having to die physically first. 
 
Last week he used related passages in 1 Corinthians, 1 and 2 Thessalonians which clearly teach that there will be a rapture. 
 
This week pastor Kevin deals with the timing of the rapture. Many debate about whether it will be before the “Tribulation” or will it be Mid-Trib, what about Pre-Wrath, or Post Trib? Kevin uses verses from Rev 19, Matthew 24-25, Dan 2, 7, 9 and 12, and Isaiah 26 to show that all the rapture theories (except pre-trib) are eliminated by the combined information given to us by God in these prophecies.

Revelation 4:1 and Isaiah 26:19-21 Sept 27,2020 Rapture: Pre, Mid, Post   What Does the Bible Teach

In this 12th Corona Virus lockdown virtual Bible study, Pastor Kevin applies the past teachings in 1 John to the rioting, looting and related lawlessness that is currently sweeping some areas of the country and world as a result of the killing of George Floyd. 
 
If the people in the country had embraced Jesus and His commandments, George Floyd would still be alive and our cities and towns would be at peace. 
 
But when a people reject the Prince of Peace as their savior and Lord, terrible consequences are the result, some of which are now being manifested in our country. 
 
The Apostle John emphasizes over and over that God is love and those who worship Him will abide in love for others. 
 
How sad that God’s love is being exchanged for hatred against one another. 
 
How can we have hope? Jesus taught us to pray, “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” A wonderful hope that will be realized by those who are His.

John teaches that a true believer keeps God’s commandments and does not hate his or her brother. 
 
Using the Old Testament, Pastor Kevin shows that “keeping God’s commandments” does not mean that a person must never break one of God’s laws in order to be saved, but rather that when they do sin; they continue to believe that Jesus alone forgives. It is a warning to not put trust in religious practices to keep us saved. Those who do are not “keeping God’s commandments” 
 
John also makes it clear that a true believer will not have hatred towards people. If we are possessed of God by the Holy Spirit, then we will have the love of God replacing the hatred that once ruled our lives.
