In our lesson this week we explore the Commandments given to Moses for the children of Israel. Specifically, the observation of the sabbath, remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy (Exodus 20:8). 
 
We discussed the purpose, meaning, and the sign it represents in relation to God and Israel. The lesson shares the difference between sabbath day and the Lord's day. 
 
Make sure to pay attention to the application of the lesson.￼

Obedience in Rest, Exodus 31:12-18.

In this week's lesson, God gives instructions to Moses for Aaron and his sons on how to handle the sacrificial offerings.

Obedience in Offerings, Lev. 22:17-25, 31-33.

In our lesson today we learned the importance of Obeying God’s instructions. Moses followed the specifications God provided in building the tabernacle. Once the task was completed exactly how the Lord had instructed His presence filled the tabernacle.￼￼

This weeks lesson shares with us how we should approach the Lord properly, with fear and respect￼.￼ 
 
God begins His preparation to establish a covenant with the children of Israel by demonstrating His awesomeness and seriousness with some breathtaking visuals. 
 
When Moses lead the people to the foot of the mountain to meet God they were fearful as they observed and listened to His phenomenonial display. 
 
During God’s conversation with Moses, He sent him back to warn the people against being curious and careless. They were not to force their way to get a glimpse. 
 
We should all have a healthy fear of disobeying God.

The lesson shares the importance of the lamb and the blood. It provides details on the specific instructions God gave to Moses for the children Israel to escape His judgment. Lastly, it encourages us to obey and have faith.

Obedient to Remember, Exodus 12:1-14

This week’s lesson shares how Ananias, a follower of Jesus living in Damascus had a vision that instructed him to go to Straight street to find Saul of Tarsus. Also, Saul had a vision of a man name Ananias coming to lay hands on him that he could receive his sight. 
 
We learned how both men were used by God and because of their obedience, baptism and a calling came to a most unlikely person.

In this week’s lesson Isaiah saw the Lord high, lifted up, and in His glory. The vision of the Lord and the worship around God throne caused Isaiah the prophet to see himself as unclean. 
Isaiah was cleansed from his sin by the Lord and he was ready to hear and to respond to the Lord’s call for service.￼￼

Weekly Sunday school lesson highlights Isaiah’s Commission in Isaiah 6:1-8.

Our lesson today helps us to see that God can use anyone for His glory. Samuel was a man called for God’s purpose during his lifetime. He was courageously committed to the Lord and was able to influence the direction of a whole nation.￼￼

Samuel’s Call and  Ministry, 1 Samuel 3:1-9, 19-20; 7:3-5, 10,  12

In this week’s lesson Paul continues to address issues at the church of Corinth. He gives a stern rebuke for their behavior during the Lord’s Supper as ￼he reminds them of the purpose and process. Then goes on to share it is a sacred moment and time of reflection. Lastly, he warns them of the penalty due to their abuse/disrespect.

Weekly Sunday school lesson highlights Thoughts on the Lord’s Supper in 1 Cor. 11:20 - 34.

Jesus said, “In the world you shall have tribulations“ John 16:33. ￼ What’s encouraging in this scripture is the fact that He overcomes the world so that we can have peace.￼ Our lesson today helps us to understand that in this world we will experienced trials, tribulations, and trouble times, but Jesus wants us to have peace. 
 
Jesus continues he’s teaching session with the disciples forewarning them of His impending death. He shares that He’s leaving for a while they will not see Him, then they will see Him… 
He knows they want to ask the meaning, so He explains. He was referring to his crucifixion and resurrection. This was going to be a difficult time for the disciples they were going to experience sorrow, grief and even weep, but it would be temporary. 
 
Jesus uses the example of a woman experiencing the pains of labor and how she endures it and afterwords there is so much joy because the baby comes into the world. 
 
Jesus finishes his teaching session with his disciples by promising them both suffering and joy. We must understand and comprehend that Jesus has overcome the world that causes our suffering and we must remain faithful to Him.

Today we shared Christ’s mission from birth by providing historic context of Galilee. The lesson takes us to the time when Jesus was presented to the priest at the temple. Mary and Joseph were greeted by Simeon, a devout man, that had been inform by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death until he saw the consolation of Israel. 
Our lesson helps us to see the difficulties of the poor, downtrodden, and misrepresented. When there was no hope, Jesus came as mentioned in Luke 4:18. 
Jesus‘s birth was a gift to the world and as we celebrate this Christmas season let us open up our hearts to all mankind and extend the love of Christ to everyone.￼

What an exciting lesson on the judgment of the rebellion in Numbers 16. This lesson helps us to see the nature of God as well as the nature of His creation. 
 
After the blatanly rebellious accusation of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, Moses let’s the Lord decide who is called to lead. In response, God carries out Moses’ command to have the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up! 
 
The three men, their wives, children, little ones, and possessions went down alive into the pit. The earth closed upon them and they perished from among the congregation. 
 
The remaining 250 rebellious men who joined in challenging Moses was consumed by fire from the Lord. The very next day the congregation blamed Moses for killing the people.

There were repeated complaints, attacks on Moses, and rebellion against God’s promise and plan. Just when we thought they had learned from their mistakes, another issue surfaced. 
 
In this week’s lesson, Korah and other prominent people challenged Moses and Aaron’s position. They were not happy with the roles and responsibilities God had given them in Numbers 4. They wanted more authority and felt they could do a better job than their current leader. 
 
Moses quickly responds to avoid further negative impact on the community. He promised that the Lord Himself would show everyone who His true servants were. 
 
Next week we will learn the outcome of Korah’s challenge.

Weekly Sunday school lesson highlights Korah’s Rebellion in Numbers 16:1-14

In our lesson this week the people wept all night and complained that God brought them out of Egypt to die by the sword. The more the learned about the promised land the more they rebelled against God’s promise and plan. 
 
They wanted to select a new leader to return to Egypt. They also wanted to stone Joshua and Celeb for standing up and challenging them to not to fear and rebel. 
 
Their actions displeased God and he said unto Moses, “How long will this people treat me with contempt? Will they never believe me, even after all the miraculous signs I have done among them?”￼ Num. 14-11.

In our lesson this week the people wept all night and complained that God brought them out of Egypt to die by the sword. The more the learned about the promised land the more they rebelled against God’s promise and plan.

Have you ever been betrayed by a loved one? This week Moses is criticized by his brother and sister for marrying a woman of color. They go on to complain because they feel like he gets too much attention. God hears their accusations and immediately responds. 
God calls all three of them to the tabernacle and explains His relationship with Moses. He defends His servant and asks Miriam and Aaron a pointed question iin Numbers 12:8. 
The Lord is very angry with them and as He departs Mariam is struck with leprosy. Aaron immediately ask his brother to forgive him for his foolishness and saying and begs him to pray to the Lord to heal his sister. The Lord shows his faithfulness and mercy but requires Mariam to be put out of the camp for seven days.

What an amazing lesson this week on complaining. It is important to understand that complaining against God will never please him. There is nothing wrong in trying to improve our circumstances as life gets harder and doing these difficult times it’s OK to ask God for help.￼ 
 
The danger of complaining is that it makes the past seem better than it was and blinds us to the blessings God is giving at the present time.￼￼ 
 
The children of Israel complained about the manna God was providing. They claimed things were better in Egypt and wanted meat! 
 
Moses heard all their complaining and became frustrated and aggravated. He also began to complain to God about having to bear all the people alone because it was too heavy for him￼. 
 
God ￼patiently responded to Moses with a solution to help him bear his load and promises to provide meat for the people 30 days.
