These comforting words of overwhelming love and security returned to me recently, as Dad unveiled to me His greater plans for my life. What amazing, wonderful words of comfort and hope of a soon-coming reality! As timely as these words of Christ were to His disciples and faithful believers before His death, so these were for me when I first discovered this early in my walk with Dad. 
 
It revealed to me that I have a better home being prepared for me in inconceivable grandeur, but above all, that I have the most loving, earnest Husband who is longing to retrieve and bring me there. 
And that solely through Him I may have direct access to all that is good, especially my Father.

An interruption of the chronological upload of my scripture songs with this latest song, in light of a special event beginning today. 
 
Thinking of the first GYC I could have attended, but at Dad's better suggestion, I will soon embark on an intimate one-on-one "conference" with the Speaker Himself on His natural stage and pulpit of the wilderness instead (JYC as I like to affectionately call it). 
 
After a year long dry spell of no scripture songs, He blessed my first attempt this year with one based on GYC 2017's theme, "ARISE" (Isaiah 60:1-3), back in August while I was asking if I could attend. 
 
Reflecting on the words of this text, I was given a tremendous hope that although all of my natural tendencies mirror the world in it's darkness, by faith Christ will dwell in me and be light. And where the light is, darkness cannot exist. Hallelujah!

Ever since I moved to the literal desert of Southern California, I developed a deeper appreciation for this passage. Rain, once a personal displeasure for me in its regularly abundant natural phenomenon in my east coast home, is now a desperately sought after, yet rare occurrence here in my new west coast home. 
 
As was before and now whenever it does rain, I cannot help but have these words echo in my mind. There have been a few very specific promises that Dad has made to me, but some have yet to be fulfilled. I have been tempted to doubt, complain, and even blame Him for not keeping them. Yet He has proven that as sure as the rain comes down and makes wonderful things happen on this earth for both nature and man, so shall His Word, His promises to us be fulfilled ALWAYS, in His perfect timing. 
 
Remember, when God spoke, things that were not became things that were. What did not exist came into existence. So when He promises us something in His Word, it MUST and WILL come to pass according to His good pleasure!

As the Lord led the Israelites out of Egypt and into the wilderness, so has He led His children out of their old lives under the bondage of sin and into the wilderness of freedom and faith. 
As I have traveled through these spiritual barren lands for the past 5 years, it has been easy to forget His provisions and complain, much like our Israelite forefathers. Yet, as He had faithfully taken care of all of their essential needs, He has and is faithfully taking care of me even to this day. 
Looking back, I now understand why He sometimes allowed me to hunger, be uncomfortable, and realize my weaknesses—so that His Word may become my only source of food and life. Only then, would I live life more abundantly in Jesus.

My, it's been over a year since the last upload. This inactivity has not been because of the shortage of songs, but because this past year has been one very refining intense disciplining of my faith. Many days, it had been extremely difficult to sing and praise, but He always reminded me to "offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name" (Heb 13:15), even when it hurt and I did not want to. 
 
So at long last, by faith, here is one that eased my soul whenever I was discouraged and weary, giving me the strength to continue forward.

Shortly after getting to know Jesus and beginning my wilderness journey of faith, I discovered this amazing chapter that affirmed the happiness of those who trust in Him.

And when doubts, fears, and discouragement assailed me, here in this psalm was a reminder of His goodness that I had tasted time and time again...which nourished me to continue the walk of faith in the deserts of the wilderness.

Shortly after getting to know Jesus and beginning my wilderness journey of faith, I discovered this amazing chapter that affirmed ...

Psalm 34:8-10

The verse that became the foundation of my faith and kick starter song of my Scripture song era… 
This was the first verse that opened my eyes and made me realize that I had a loving heavenly Father to whom I was a very precious daughter. The words put worth in me for the first time in my life three years ago. 
Then, following this turning point of my life, I picked up my guitar, strummed the only three chords that I knew, got inspired by Dad with a melody, and began to sing.
