This week we begin a new quarter focusing on a series of lessons to help us build our faith. In today’s lesson Aaron was ordained the first High Priest. When a sinful humanity could not approach a holy God, a solution was provided through priesthood. 
The aim of the lesson is to understand the three requirements of biblical holiness: A thorough understanding of that was God requires, (Lev81-3). A clear determination to give God the glory￼ (Lev 8:4-5). Complete obedience in following God’s instructions￼ (Lev 8:6-13). ￼

Ordination of Aaron and His Sons in Lev. 8:1-13

In our lesson this week Peter speaks before the Sanhedrin. He gives credit to Jesus Christ for healing a lame man. He goes on to share that Jesus had been raised from the dead and it bothered the Religious Elite. 
 
The council observed that Peter and John were uneducated men, and was surprised by their boldness. They took note that the two had been with Jesus. They threatened them to stop preaching in the name of Jesus, but the men responded they would speak what they have seen and heard. 
 
We learn that Satan may oppose those who do God’s work and the world may come against us get serving Christ. We can trust that the Lord will hold us up when the enemy attacks.

We learned that Jeremiah received a message from God and was instructed to deliver it to a sinful nation and king. 
Jeremiah chose to obey God and God spared his life from the people who demanded he be executed.

Our lesson today helps us to realize that one of the greatest challenges of preaching the word of God is that our culture today rejects it. To some, the gospel of Jesus Christ is an offense.

Weekly Sunday lesson highlights Jeremiah 26:1, 4-15; Jeremiah Stands Up to Deadly Threats

This week was an amazing lesson highlighting Queen Esther‘s courage. The aim of the lesson was to help us understand that as God’s people sometime we are put in a desperate situation that is beyond our control. 
This lesson shows how strategic God works in our lives. He is our creator, but not a creator that leaves us alone. He is active in our every day experiences. 
A key point to acknowledge is when Mordecai encouraged Esther and reminded her with this question. Who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this? 
There are three principles embodied in his advice: 
1) no place of privilege can ever exempt a person from responsibility to respond to God‘s call 
2) A situation may look hopeless, but God is never helpless 
3) God-given opportunity is an individual received privilege

Weekly Sunday lesson (introduction),  Esther 4:6 - 5:2, Esther Goes Before the King

This week in our Sunday lesson we learned how Hezekiah, king of Judah, although a devout and godly man was not exempt from hard times. 
After leading Judah back to God by destroying idol temples and cleansing God‘s temple, he learned that the Assyrian army was coming to invade Judah. 
 He prepared by disabling the water holes outside the city, fortifying walls, and building new watch towers. He made more weapons, and shields, then encouraged his commanders to be brave, strong and not fear. 
Finally, he and the prophet Isaiah prayed and God sent an angel to defeat their enemy.

It’s our last week in San Antonio, Texas where we have enjoyed sharing the weekly Sunday school lessons. 
This week we are encouraged to stand with God even when you are out numbered or the underdog. 
God is all-powerful and always present. When we stand with him in faith, we have nothing to fear, even if it seems we are standing alone. We learned how King Abijan and the children of Judah cried out to God when the odds were against them and their faith won them the victory.

It’s our last week in San Antonio, Texas where we have enjoyed sharing the weekly Sunday school lessons.

Weekly Sunday lesson, Abijah Challenges King Jeroboam in 2 Chronicles 13:3-18

This week we discover an individual who considers himself a weakling, but with God‘s strength was able to do an heroic deed. Gideon was afraid of his family and the townsfolk, but God knew that he could get the task done with his help. 
God had instructed the children of Israel to remove the inhabitants in the promised land along with all of their belongings. They were afraid to do it. But Gideon took action by pulling down his father’s Baal’s Altar and setting up an altar to honor the Lord. 
There may be things in our lives that causes conflict or threatens our relationship/commitment to God. Those things need to be completely removed.

This week lessons culminate the narrative of the resurrection of Lazarus. Our lesson helps us to see that Jesus shows compassion. 
We learned that God is glorified in our pain and suffering, he is glorified when we obey him, and he is glorify when we trust him.

Weekly Sunday school lesson; A Display of Divine Glory, John 11:33-44

This week Jesus shares a difficult saying with his followers. His objective is to shift their thinking from a natural perspective to a spiritual one. When he tells his followers they must eat up his body and drink of his blood they found it a hard saying. They decided to no longer follow Jesus when they couldn’t understand his sayings. 
Jesus use this metaphor of eating of his flesh and drinking of his blood to symbolize the act of believing in him for salvation he offered through his sacrifice on the cross. The aim of the lesson is to practice unconditional loyalty to the Lord in our every day lives. The fact is we must learn to abide in Jesus even when we do not understand his Ways. The principle of the lesson is to develop an unflinching loyalty to Christ, even when following him includes dealing with realities that offend our sensibilities.

Today we share our weekly Sunday school lesson Moses reflects God’s glory, Exodus 34:27- 35. The lesson features Moses with God for 40 days and God’s glory permeates him and he glows. The children of Israel are afraid as they visualize Moses with the glory of the Lord upon him. Our lives should reflect the glory of the Lord as well.

More importantly, Moses the leader of the Israelites confronts the sins of the people and holds them accountable when they disobey the first three Commandments. 
The lesson shares with us the difference in leadership styles between Moses and his elder brother Aaron. Aaron goes along with the sins of the Israelites and then blames the people, never takes the responsibility of his actions. The lesson teaches us that when you sin, you should own it and repent of it because we serve a God that does not over look our wrongdoing.
