Education is important as far as God is concerned. When He was protecting and guiding the Israelites through the wilderness and into the Promised Land, He reminded them to educate their children about His ways.

In the Bible, education was seen as something important in order to understand the will of God, and to follow it continuously. In Proverbs, this education involves training so that the child won’t forget God’s truth even when he gets old.

The Scripture also gives emphasis to application of knowledge, which is equal to wisdom. Practical or applied knowledge will be useless unless it is put into practice or action. This serves as a reminder that education may be good, but it should make a positive change in the life of the individual. If not, then his education is useless.
